Wow, I've never seen one of these before!

If you're building/customizing an old Ultima, this may be the way to go for a chassis replacement:

It's a little expensive though...

looks cool. i bought his optima set. pretty good. now i feel obligated to grab this set. he also had some rear knuckles that would fit the rear of the optima and ultima.

i just dont get it, why put a carbon fibre set-up on an old car that never had one anyway?, id just buy a new release
and a carbon motor plate not much heat disapation there. no offence.

well, iunno. why does my optima need a replica alloy bumper? buhp!! it just looks good to me. does it serve a better purpose than a plastic one? no! same for alloy wings/tails. or alloy rims? if you have alot of optima's or ultima's its tempting to want an all CF one.well thats just me.

I think it is very simple, IT IS COOL. I would get it if I had the money and if I was going to race my Ultima for fun.
If I had most of the parts and only need a chassis I would get it.

I would like to see one built, with the wheels and everything.

I agree on the cool factor. I would like to upgrade one of my vintage rides with something like this. For my Turbo Ultima though I'd just be happy with an original style with the correct annodizing and no scratches.

I think it's pretty cool. I'd totally get the shock towers if they came separate.

it's cool but could be much better: lengthwise battery, LWB for example.

The carbon moterplate is a good thing: the original bends too easy. Cooling is easy enough to get in other ways. But why keep the stupid uneuse hole that allows dirt to get in your outergears???
The topdeck is silly: why copy the original and foresee every detail to mount a mechanical speed controller :P

They do sell the parts individually. Here's the link.

Here's a general overview of what they have for the ultimas.

Be sure to post it when your start your project, I will follow that one with great interest.

I'm trying to force myself to hold back on a couple projects until the Sand Scorcher comes out on the 1st part of the year.

I can see a new carbon fiber Ultima chassis would use up a few of my spare parts in the very near future though.

I finally caved and bought a Slash (& 1 for my son) the day before I found out about the official release of the 'Scorcher. Now with Christmas coming up, my R/C "mad money" budget is running a little lean..
