Do the Jconcept rulux wheels have a pin or hex drive for say, a B4, and B44?

can anyone take a quick offset measurement on the b4 rear and/or b44 front wheel?

thanks in advance!

the b4/b44 rims are a pin.

i don't have any b44 fronts to measure up.

ok, thats what i thought. It also looks like the b44 uses a hex up front, wonder if the jconcepts version has a hex for it.

:? i don't think so. but, maybe i'm wrong. it doesn't make sense, to me, for them to have pins in the back and hexes up front.

from what i can see in the b44 manual, they use a hex drive up front, and pins in the back, so I dunno.

anyone with a b44 confirm that?

the b44 does in fact use a hex in the front. so it wont fit the rear.

now the b4 and b44 rear wheels are the same as one another.

here's a pic of the b44 front hex.

I never would've imagined that. Am I missing something or is that a bizarre choice for Associated? :?

since the b44 is basically based off the tc3/4/5 touring car which uses hexes i don't see it too far fetched. basically the rear is where they got cheep and used a pin. but it does help out the guys that have b4 wheels and tires already. all they had to do is worry about front wheels.

I kinda see it as a greedy way to make people have to buy new rims and tires. Don't get me wrong, I'll defend Associated as much as the next guy. Would the hexes hold up better under the stress that the steering wheels take? I guess that could be a defense if it's true.

don't know if they would hold up better or not. i mean really how many pins or pined wheels have everyone wore out (and loose wheel nuts don't count ) i don't see how they could be better since the pins work just fine. now from personal opinion i will tell you i don't care for the hexes. i feel that they are way too tight of a fit in the wheels and need to be trimmed down a little to even fit decently.

being as though your not going to run front rims on the back, it really doesn't matter if it's a different setup front to rear. it's just odd to me.

i'd bet if they would've needed to design a new rear rim for the b44 because of offset (different than the b4), that rim would've had a hex.

Depending on track conditions though wouldn't you want the versatility of being able to inter-change all four rims? There might be an instance where you do want to run fronts on back or vice versa. There's not that big of a difference in size. I'm not arguing, just trying to understand the logic behind their decision.

well....... i'm sure you could just toss a hex adapter on the rear and mount the front rims on the back. so, it's not really that big of a deal.

Somehow Losi has managed to define the standard for front wheels on 4WD competition cars; a hex but not the usual metric kyosho/tamiya/HPI 12mm.
And rear wheels come in the associated standard (also imperial so you can't fit a 12mm hex on them).
Don't know how this came to get standard, I whish 12mm was standard for all.
Tamiyas trf-baldre and durga, b44, losis 4wd follow this standard, academy and hotbodies offer it as an option I believe.

Why don't you check Jconcepts site and maybe send your question direct to them?
The rulux wheels also exist in a 2WD front variation I'm pretty sure
