Re: my old rc10
Charlie is right, from memory, the original body is the Protech body, which makes the buggy look more like a real buggy.
Just scour ebay, you will be able to find an original chassis (unless you want a championship edition, buy both )
Here, I'll start you off:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-gold-tub-chassis-RC10-offroad-buggy_W0QQitemZ280417365978QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadio_Control_Vehicles?hash=item414a2d6fda
Team Associated still sells some of legacy parts, but most are NOT for the original RC10 (although it will fit), but for the Championship Edition.
I have a RC10CE, the difference between the RC10CE and the original one, in terms of geometry, were the arms and the tire/rim size.
The original RC10 used a 1.7"/1.5" f/r rims, the CE used a 2.2"/2.0" f/r rims.
There's a faq on AE's site that talks about how to use the modern 2.2"/2.2" scheme.

Very cool picture. You look like you were one cocky bad ass kid. You should have done up your zipper before posing like that!
Joking aside, welcome to the forum! You can make a perfect replica of your original stolen car. Just look for info about the original RC10 on this forum (I think you had the Cadillac version). Get busy on eBay searching and buying a chassis. You can get the body and a wing at Tower Hobbies.

After a few more posts (25 I think?) you can ask to be allowed in the buy/sell section of this forum. You can find all sorts of goodies there as well!

Re: my old rc10
Not sure on the kit # off the top of my head. Don't worry about the Cadillac version thing just now, you will learn the difference later. Any gold pan RC10 with short front arms and wheels just like the ones in your picture will work for your project. This is a link to the manual: http://aedownloads.com/downloads/manuals/rc10_manual.pdfdsmith wrote:so what kit # would the cadillac version be?

Re: my old rc10
I use Castrol Super Clean.
Get a small container and let the parts soak until the paint starts to come off.
If only dye was that easy..
