What parts of the Blackfoot body are you wanting to paint? The whole thing, or any chance just some flat surfaces? I was always partial to the chrome sticker sheets that I could cut to fit anything (on a flat area). Sorry if this is no help.

Alclad looks pretty close to chrome. I did this with my airbrush but I know they make it in an aerosol can

alclad definetly the best. spazstix is the best for "internal" lexan paint, true mirror finish, but not for external application. they say you can achieve it with a waterbased clear coat, but i have yet to have success with it.
alclad goes on no problem. MAKE SURE to buy the alclad BLACK as a backer paint, its required to make it come out looking good. ive used it on rims and while it doesnt look like a vacuum metalized chrome finish, its quite nice.
any train/hobby store will stock it usually.

Thanks for the responses here. In terms of the areas where I'll use the chrome paint, these will be the wheel arches and the other small detail areas such as the "F.O.R.D." letters and the door handles, windscreen edging....
Still struggling with what to do for the main paint job/colour scheme though....

For the things you talk about, bare metal foil would be a better choice. I painted my blackfoot like the truck my dad didn't buy in 1984

Re: Which is the most realistic Chrome Paint....
When you say bare metal foil, is there a specific kind that you know of/can recommend? I really like your colour scheme too, Mr Shodog, as whilst it is different to the Blackfoot it follows the same pattern and thereby bears a close resemblance but at the same time being unique.
Colour schemes I have been thinking of for inspiration are as seen on the original Big Foot and the original King Kong as they are of the same era as the Blackfoot and they have that vintage feel to them. Pics of these trucks are here:

when I bought it last, it was called bare metal foil. I'm not sure of the name brand. It's essentially really thin adhesive backed metal foil. You can cut it then iron it down on the contours
