Alternative Box-Art colour schemes for original A stamp RC10

Post by DerbyDan »

I've recently got bittern by the RC10 bug & brought from Ebay.US a very nice original RC10, which I think has only been run perhaps once or twice, judging by the minimal scratching on the chassis. The car came with the box, instructions (including a newsletter dated 1984) White sticker sheet, a few unused parts & an unpainted bodyshell & wing.

Thing is i'd like to paint it in the box art design - but I don't really think the gold anodised parts goes too well with the orange paint. Just wondered if any of you guys had seen & perhaps post pictures of the box design done in different colours, any ideas would be gratefully received. Thanks... Dan

Here are a few that I have. I can not take credit for the paint jobs. These were done by racer8838 on ebay. but the pics may give you some ideas for your own colors. hope to finish the build on the blue car soon.

Ah thanks for those rctenracer, I like the blue & white scheme, really nice :)

I think i've seen the red-white & blue car before (on Tamiya club maybe) That was the car I had in mind when I thought of doing the box art theme but in different colours.

The baby-blue car is money. I am trying to find a way to make the orange scheme fit a truck body, but I just can't get it to work with the upper pinstripes. I think this blue and white scheme will work though.

Here are two more box art cars that I have . Graphite six gear and a CE stealth. racer8838 paint jobs. all my box art cars are mint never ran built from nib kits. the orange one is a edinger resto that I have done and still needs a few parts to complete.

Ah rctenracer - the penny has dropped! Just realised that you are the one & the same F1Dave on tamiyaclub.... you also recently e'mailed me with advice on fitting 2.2" wheels- for which I thank you. You have a great collection of lovely RC10s 8)
