Hi all. I don't have a RC10 yet, but did race one back around 95. I cannot believe it, but I gave away a nearly complete RPM worlds car (plastic chassis and all) back then. Anyway, I have decided to restore to runner status everything I still have, before I move on to collecting other stuff. I have a side project as well, that need some dimensions for. I have no parts laying around to measure, so was hoping someone migh take a few minutes to help.

Lengths:

Front and rear arms:
Hinge pin to hinge pin. (wide fornt arms)
Width of space for castor block
Width of space for hub carrier.
Suspension mounts:
Hinge pin to hinge pin width (as mounted stock) F and R
Width of arm mounts (where the hinge pin goes though) F and R

Front:
Arms: 2" pin-to-pin (2.025" with my calipers, close as I can get)
Caster block width: 0.490"
Bulkhead width: 0.820"
Inner hinge pin spread: 2.925"

Rear:
Arms: 2.235"
Hub carrier width: 0.600"
Mount width: 1.380"
Inner hinge pin spread: 2.50" (approximately at the center of the mounts; toe-in makes them wider at the rear and narrower at the front)

Thanks for the help Steve. I noticed a little similarity in the geometry of my Ta01 rear arms and rc10. Was thinking of them as a substitute for taking the TA to a Buggy. Is it wrong not to use a Tamiya part designed to do this (top force/manta ray arms), just because I don't like the plastic? I may have to use something else, as I want to max the width out to racing limits, but also will probably have to change hub carriers/axles to use something more higher end anyway. We'll see what happens.

Can anyone post the hinge pin to hinge pin length of the RPM worlds/Klein/Dynacraft (F&R) arms please? Since the RPMs are sometimes hard to come by, and the Dynacrafts are pricey for a full set (although I can tell the quality is first rate and worth it), I was looking for a somewhat more affordable way to build a worlds car suspension. Heck, while I'm at it, why not open this up... Any arms you have around and have the notion to measure, give us some spec's. Who knows, might help someone get their Ultima, Triumph, or even a much more rare car running again....without necessarily selling a kidney. Thanks.


Oh and it might also help to include arm mount space and caster block space widths...

i have a set that are not currently mounted. i will work on the #'s later for you. now would you like inch or mm?

dynotech rear arm specs.

center of inner pin to center of outer pin = aprox 64.2mm
over all length = 72mm

outer hinge area
inner = 14.9mm
outer = 28.2mm

inner hinge area
inner = 34.8mm
outer = 50.8mm

dynotech front arm specs.

center of inner pin to center of outer pin = aprox 60.3mm
over all length = 68.5mm

outer hinge area
inner = 12.5mm
outer = 25.5mm

inner hinge area
inner = 25.0mm
outer = 39.5mm

these are aprox but i think i have most of them close enough for you.

my advice is don't try to cheap out. get the dynotech arms and be done with it and not have to worry about them again.
