Oval build #2 LXT

I originally started to build this chassis up with short arm JRX-2/t suspension. I had some trouble with shock clearance and found a different chassis plate, so this plate has been sitting in the box for a while.
Here is the start of the buildup.
Nice new production Pure-tech Strap:

Ball bearing steering added, Chassis "milled" in the rear for an XX retro trans. I use the term milled loosely, I did it with a dremel drywall adapter(http://www.dremel.com/en-us/AttachmentsAndAccessories/Pages/AttachmentsDetail.aspx?pid=565) and a couple different bits. One was a rounded tip(http://www.dremel.com/en-us/AttachmentsAndAccessories/Pages/AttachmentsDetail.aspx?pid=9903) that cut lots of material out quickly but left a rough/rutted bottom, the other was a flat tip(http://www.dremel.com/en-us/AttachmentsAndAccessories/Pages/AttachmentsDetail.aspx?pid=194) that left a nicer finish, but could not remove much depth in a single pass.

The rest of the donor LKT is being prepped for building.
I am debating what to use for shocks/towers. stock LXT stuff is way too long for an oval car. Maybe I'll just use stock jrx-2 towers and shocks, that would lower the overall height of the chassis to make it easier to fit a body, and lower the ride height to on-road levels.

Did you try getting a hold of Daryl to see if he's got anymore shock towers? Never know what he's got lying around...

I emailed him tonight, hopefully he has some, the towers are actually still listed on the factoryworks site.

I got the diff rebuilt, it was assembled wrong and missing pieces. now it is buttery smooth.
Built up the rear end with an RPM 0degree hinge pin carrier.
Shock towers are factoryworks, the body is the factoryworks roadkill.
The instructions that come with the towers say to cut off the raised shock mounts from the arms and to drill the arms to mount the shocks lower, I am unsure If I will do so. The shocks on there are temporary. I'm looking to get a matching set of decent shocks, but am currently very over my toy budget for a while.
The electronics were swapped out of my VONATS jrx-2 as that one will likely not see any use until next september.
The chassis was drilled for associated battery cups. I used the drilled/countersunk holes to fix some nylon nuts which seem to work well as a battery locator to prevent sideways movement of the pack.

Very nice! What front bulkhead is that? IMO, the original Roadkill is the best oval truck body ever available.

I also have an A&L/Factory Works/Composite Craft-equipped carpet oval LX-T that I used to race as a kid. These trucks are dialed right out of the box.
