Video Editing Software

Post by Halgar »

Anybody got a recommendation for free vid editing software? Right now I just need to edit the length of a couple videos (delete half of it ) or change their format from wmv to avi, or whatever.

I didn't search video specifically, but http://www.afterdawn.com has a lot of good, clean and legal software. Some free, some costs, but it tells you in advance and I've never had a problem. Now if you happen to get a virus don't come suing me. I'm just saying that I've personally had great luck. They have about anything you can imagine. Especially helpful for file conversion software. I've downloaded several for free and they work great. Pay attention to the user ratings. And if you're too worried about viruses, just wear a condom... :P

It's been a couple of years since I used afterdawn so I went and looked around. They still seem about the same, but again, it's been a couple of years. My computer didn't dislike anything I was poking around at though. No pun intended...

Yep, like Mike said... Windows Movie Maker works as long as you can get the movie imported successfully. If you're willing to pay, I use VideoRedo which is really easy to use. There is a free demo that is fully functional for 30 days I think.
