I've had a great day swapping chassis and stuff :D , I hope I've made a decent job of them. I've put some notes on the picture comments as I can't work out how to put text between the images :? .

some nice left overs. Not enough for the Tekin though.

Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

Wow!

That's a really late CE "B" chassis... not countersunk for the six-gear. I was going to say "C" chassis, but I can see the "B" in the second pic.

So now you have to find all black plastic and make it a final version CE.

Back to the workshop with you! :P

What else can we make you do??

Sorry... it seems you're on the right track. Just need an "A" chassis and a pair of battery cups. A real 6010 should have the battery placed sideways as the forward cup holes are not really in-line with the rear bulkhead, and a little too far back. Ever notice how many early chassis have been drilled with additional mounting holes?

Oh, and the Sidewinder body is for a TQ10 graphite kit...

I bought the chassis not really knowing anything about it except it was gold :? , I have a couple of original bodies but uncut so I just put this one on because it's there. I've got a badly scratched A chassis but not bent, should I repair it and have it painted along with a nose plate to match and swap it over :?: I think I might as then I don't have to worry about finding a nose plate and I would be using the correct chassis. Oh I have another battery cup :!: :)

I gave up on trying to make a mint 6010, mine has all the correct parts, box, manuals, "East Edinger" motor etc. but is definitely in "as played with" condition. Shows it's graceful age, warts and all, but if I want to rip it around to get that original six-gear feel, it's ready. 8)

It may be time for a "what RC10 have I got?" sticky with an overview of the changes in production on the various kits.

Really really nice RC10s!! :)
The graphite is super pimp . The gold is nice too, no matter if it is a "B" chassis (I have a C in mine) it looks good. Give it a new protech body (I really don't like the sidwinder...sorry).

I'm not keen on the sidewinder either although Inetrc has a lovely JPS one. I will definitely finish it with an original protech in box art I think.
