Hot Trick Hot Shot I think

Post by tizeye »

Just picked this little beauty up at a local garage sale this morning. The guy who sold it to me said that it used to belong to his son and that it had not been used in many many years. You can see it still has bits of mud stuck to it from it's last run. Anyway I think that it's a Hot Trick conversion for a Hotshot correct me if I'm wrong..ahh I won't tell you guys what I paid for it ... don't want to embarrass anybody.. 8)

I don't think I will keep it...I don't have anything else even similar..but I will spend this afternoon cleaning it up and I will see how it comes out..

Nice find. That cleaned up nicely, looked like crap in the first pic. Hot Trick Stuff is really starting to grow on me. Didn't really like it back in the day.

Heres some pic's of the body..it has been over trimmed in some areas...I can't find any markings on it, but I think that since it's here in NZ that it might be a Frewer body... I seem to remember that Frewer made a long wheel base conversion for Optima Mids (very basic) that had a body that looked a lot like this... if you want to make a copy from it Mr Lexan let me know..

Is the Frewer the same what was offered by JG for the Optima Mid (one company offering another's just in the states)? I seem to remember it was. Frewer's stuff could always be IDed by the window net in the windows. I've got a JG Mid body and it is essentially the same as the OE mid body (looks pretty much identical), but was offered in two different wheelbases.

Pretty cool. I love those 77 decals, that's a great font.

Couldn't tell you that for certain..they did make a long wheel base mid conversion at one stage plus a standard mid body as well...I do know that they export bodies all over the World...tell you what I want one of your bodies so how about I send you one of these..sort of a trade..

I was thinking that maybe it would fit an RC10...judge for yourself..I think it looks wild..even wilder on the DS...if you were to fit a rear wing like that which was on the Mardave, you would have a pretty wild looking car..in fact I'm going to do just that..bare in mind that the original body was longer in the front and slightly longer in the back..this body has been hacked a fair bit..
