I got to talking to a seller on ebay a few days ago. graphite-girl is the name.
She says she has some in stock currently and can make more of the flat graphite chassis with a kickup on one end. Obviously blank, so If you chose to do your own, you'd have to drill all of your own holes and cut it to shape.
I am waiting to hear back from her with some pics of what she's got available. I'll keep yall informed.

Hey Brandon. She is good to deal with. If she hasn't allready turned you over to Dave that will be the next step. Thats who I tried to get something together with but it kinda fell thru when I couldn't come up with enuf interest to validate $350 a sheet. He did have some blemishes that might've worked and it went down a little in price but not much. I never did get the pix that were supposed to be sent to me but I think after playing phone tag with Dave off and on for a couple weeks they just got tired of me. Good people to deal with and if you get on the phone with him have a comfy chair to sit it cuz it won't be a short call  .

Got an email from them today. 14"X6" 3mm thick, with a 2" long kickup. $100.

A little steep for a blank, but where else are you gonna get it.

I'll have to think about that one for a bit.

yes that is a little bit steep. If you go by the fullsize sheet they make you'll end up with quite a bit more chassis for the price. The quote I had was $350 for a 26"X(13-3/4"+2"kickup)X3mm. I have a table saw and was going to cut down to inch widths so I had a choice of how wide to make them. Wider for offset oval chassis or narrower for straight forward sprint chassis type thing and do a buy the inch wide price. Just didn't get enuf interest for the price. I have bought alot of flat stock from graphite-girl off ebay and am very happy with the quality of their stuff so I'm not afraid of that aspect of it but my initial concern was getting stuck with alot of money tied up in something I would pry never get the time to work on :? .

Well, if there is enough demand for some, I could make as well, I work in a composites shop for a living!

i probably mentioned this in another thread about graphite sheets with a kickup, but traxxas has a front bulkhead that already has the kickup built in, so i don't know the exact applications you guys are thinking, but if it's not a rest-mod type thing, and its strictly for a runner or custom build, this would work well. It bolts to the edge of a flat chassis. has provisions for a top plate also. originally made on the trx3, it carries through on a bunch of their cars.

Do you have a picture of this and is it easy to get still?

yep, in stock at tower, they have them in black and gray.

the top three holes in the picture mount to the chassis. I doubt if you would, but if you needed something narrower, I'm sure you could trim out the middle section with a saw blade to make any width you'd need, and hold it all together with the lower chassis, upper chassis, shock tower, and front bumper, and maybe a couple of pins or something in the middle.

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNMP2&P=7

it tells you what i fits at the bottom.

if I was making something custom now, this is what i would start with. I tend to look at things as what I can use them for, rather than for their intended application :D

you can look on traxxas' website for the bandit manual to see how it fits together on a flat chassis bottom.

 Are you me :?:
That's what I've been doing for years and how I ended up with drawers full of parts to use one day

Do you know if the hingepin holes are metric: 3 mm or imperial 3.2mm? Excellent part, but with handling and shipping it will get expensive to order to belgium... I wonder if liquidrc has this also

I would guess they are metric, 3mm. Which is nice, because you can drill that out to 1/8" :D (3.2mm).

it's certainly possible you are my twin on the other side of the planet......hahhah....

Thanks guys.

I hope I remember this and can find it back when I start building again. I know you can 'bookmark' threads, but haven't found yet how I can recall the ones I bookmarked

And twin bro: show's some pics of the projects you did before please!
