I recently picked up this vintage BRUISER 3 speed truck from a friend on this forum. Although the metal parts are showing there age with evidence of oxidation (if thats the term?) and could do with a polish up. From what i am told this truck has spent most of its life on a shelf and i tend to believe this as the tyres still have the mold flashing in the centre of the tread. At best it looks as though it may have been run around in the backyard and the body has a few light scapes to show for it and the windsreen has a crack on one side. The diffs and underside are mark free so im guessing this could be a real gem of a find.
Sadly the trucks paintscheme was pretty darn messy so after a couple of cans of oven cleaner i managed to remove all of it and start again. While the kit paint scheme was meant to be blue I went for a different look and 2 cans of tamiya candy lime green went onto the cab and tray. Im realy happy with the finish and after hours of fine brush strokes much of the finer details are nearly done.
The truck is missing the front head light lenses, rear louver and mirrors but these are all available as repro's from ebay.
All the radio gear is there less the handset but the 4000mah 6V battery and charger were included too. i am yet to test drive this unit so i can confirm or deny its performance at this point but ive been assured everything works when it was last tested.

Thats a cool Bruiser i reckon. All you need to do is Polish all the metal parts. Mmm i mean the whole chassis as it's all metal. It will look really nice.

I think the bruisers use the same headlights as the clodbuster. You can get them brand new and they come with clear or yellow. Also do the bruisers use blackfoot tires? They look like the original blackfoot tires, but better proportioned on the bruiser. Very cool, I love the color.

Bruiser lights are not shared with the clod. they are their own size. You should be able to retrofit a set of the high lift hilux lights. Bruiser tires and blackfoot tires look almost identical but the bruiser tires are made of a much hard rubber compound in order to support the weight of the truck

Shodog, thanks for the tips. I was wondering about that. I wanted to get a hilux body for my clod and was planning on using the clod lights.

The Bruiser was one of my favorite trucks as a kid. It was way out of my price range as a kid. And now that I'm an adult making decent money...it's still out of my price range. Nice truck, and the color goes well on it.

Just sold a Bruiser on eBay which we put together from parts and got it to the point of being a roller or a little better. It got $305 + shipping. Actually selling a couple of parts lots left over now and they are going for decent money. I think the Bruiser is like gold and you got a really nice one there. Congrats

Little do you know Mark I have a large collection of over 50 cars that I would never sell and there is many I would be happy to sell.I love to collect and trade and would like to hope that none holds that against me.

Well its just every buggy i see you with you sell not long after you get it. I really would have to be starving and homeless to sell a any of my collection.

Its your choice what you sell and no one should judge anybody on what they do with there collection.

No offence taken Mark,just stating facts.I had to sell it to fund my trip to the vintage 4 hour enduro in Melbourne.I checked with Jason to make sure he didnt mind me offloading it and he had no problem with it at all.I it wasnt for me selling some of my cars you wouldnt have some of the cars you do
