The Story

A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?'
The father who, despite having a heart condition said 'yes.' They went
on to complete the marathon together.

Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying
'yes' to his son's request of going through the race together.

One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman
together.' To which, his father said 'yes' too.

For those who don't know, the Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The
race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometers)
ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometers) bike ride, and
ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometers) marathon along the coast of
the Big Island .

The father and son went on to complete the race together.

Having 4 children myself I can relate to having that kind of love for my kids. That guy is one heck of dad to do that with his son. If only every father could be this way with his kids the world would be a different place indeed.

I remember when he ran that race it was all over the news here were I live. that is a fine man. all people should Love their kids that much.

Yup kids should always be priority #1 My two girls are that for sure. To bad my deadbeat dad wasent like that guy glad i can do different for my girls.

Wow that's impressive. I would do anything for my little girl but that guy takes the cake. Strong man to do that.

You know, all those other wusses just did the course by themselves. This guy was the true winner being able to do what would kill just about anybody else WITH the addition of towing a second person the entire trip.

I admire anyone with the desire and stamina to do a race like that, it's really amazing when you see someone who can do more than twice the work in the process.

Truly a HERO.
It is unimaginable what the human BODY can do once you put your MIND to it.
This is so inspirational to me. I have 3 boys and one girl. This will definately have an impact on the rest of my life. This is worthy of my 1st post here on RC10TALK.COM

A tale of a true hero!
I'm fortunate to have one daughter from a previously relationship, and she means the world to me.
Her laughter makes me wanna be the best father to her, and her very existense makes everything else meaningless.
Sorry to bump this one, but I really got touched by this..
