Scored more RC10 stuff

Picked up these goodies today....an older RC10 with Mag Jr. and an RC10GT with Mag Jr. Both are complete, plus I got a bunch of parts, some misc. Tamiya/Kyosho hardware, some oddball tires/wheels and a few plane parts...haha.
I've weeded through it and picked out all the good stuff....giving the rest to a freind. :D

The RC10 has a full bearings, Speedworks modifed motor, Futaba ESC and 3 7-cell Sanyo packs....dig the Parma "aerodynamic" '55 Ford body on JG mounts!!
The GT has a Dynamite engine, but otherwise looks box stock......
Both don't appear to have been used much......plan to tear each one down and clean 'em up. Maybe dye all the parts black on the electric, as one front arm is already black. 8)

Although I should be finishing my "other" RC10......

Josh, finishing what you started will never give you time to find stuff like this!

You might want to clean up the two new ones before you decide to dye anything black--
you might find some really nice parts under all that dirt, and black parts are easy to find

Thanks Reggie!
Yeah.....I may not dye 'em black.....but I really don't like the white. Never did....... I'll get 'em cleaned up 1st.....then pick a color....hehe :D

I do plan on getting the GT running....it's in REALLY nice shape. It's just been sitting for quite awhile and I'm hoping I can save the engine. I plan to work on it 1st.....I dig nitro.

.12 engines (especially pull start) are a dime/dozen, and chances are there has never been any afterrun oil or quality fuel ( or a clean air filter ) you will prob save a lot of time getting a nice
ostg/tz12 for cheap

Nice find.

Was this a CL score or something thru the grapevine?

dont dye anything that can be saved.

dyeing parts is a sin.

the white parts will grow on you give them time.

theres nothing like finding nip whitey white parts.

i hated them too once, now i kick myself for making the mistake of dyeing rare parts black... just my 2 cents

Don't worry...I'm not dying any parts black......they'll be PURPLE on this one! I'm a sinner....
There are PLENTY of cars being built with boring white parts........mine won't be..... :P
I like to build my vintage cars just like I remember them back when I raced....and all my freind's and I dyed our parts on our cars.....

I'm beginning to think RC10 restorers are as critical of originality as Mopar guys....hahaha!!!

Dye old buggy parts for sure, but those white GT parts are uber rare! I still envy you, you bass-turd!

some of us definitely...

while i'm far from a purist, that looks like a hell of a great start to a restoration shelf queen. old gt's with nice white parts are really freaking rare...

seriously, most of the gt's have had fuel stain the white parts pretty bad. I had to buy 2 to get enough good parts for one build, so the blue dye would take evenly

What's a "shelf queen"???

Well, I took the GT all apart and cleaned everything, clean the engine and reassembled. Installed the radio gear that came with it. Fueled her up and tried starting. Fired right up... :P
Ran about a 1/2 tank of fuel through her.....runs good and is fun the drive....but needs cleaned again.....haha!
Heading to the hobby shop later to get an air filter for it. Need to get a correct body for it too...
