inline front axles

has anyone else had problems with the bearings sliding over the axles freely? the steel ones, not the aluminum ones. i have 8 pairs, nip, and i can't get a bearing started on one of them. it's freakin, rediculous. i mean, you shouldn't have to machine them down for the bearings to slide on properly. add this to the new pack of .71 shocks i bought last week. i didn't notice that one shock body was a .71, and the other is a .56 until i started to build them. i never thought i'd have to make sure that they were the same.
sorry for the rant, i'm just throughly pissed off right now.

Simple solution to the axle problem. Put the axles in a drill, and then take some 400 or finer grit sandpaper and polish them up some.
No comment on the shocks.

As unlikely as it seems, have you tried different bearings?

ya, that's what i did do, i was just saying you shouldn't have to. i have the old style, e-clip axles, they go right on. the aluminun axles, they go right on. that's all i'm getting at. i guess i'm in a bad mood in general today. usually this crap doesn't bug me.

I just got some brand new replacement front axles as well, and had the same problem. The old bearings did wind up going on smooth, but they had to be on perfectly straight, and they were still tight.
