lipo pack in a tekin chassis

Post by scr8p »

has anyone tried to put a lipo pack in their tekin chassis? does it fit?

i was thinking, just to have something different, about running my tekin car at the v-nats in 2wd.

well, i tried selling it awhile back, but no one seemed to want it. i've been slowly robbing the new parts off of it, thinking maybe i'd just try selling the chassis. but i figured, i might as well just use it. so, i'm gonna put some decent used parts on it and beat the hell out of it. if a lipo will fit, because 4600's don't.

i think i'm gonna put a new car together to run every year. i have enough stuff left to do it.

anyone?

going by the dimensions i see for the majority of lipo packs compared to the width of the chassis, a lipo should fit. but i'd just like to make sure first.

Is it wider than an alloy tub? No lipo has a chance of fitting across an original chassis.

It's tight, but this Orion 3200 fits:

ya know.... ever since i got my kit a couple years ago i've said that the rear suspension seemed a bit on the fragile side. well, we're gonna see if i was right. i'm curious to see how well the active link works, too.

i better get going on it. the race is coming up quick.

Jason, I replaced the stock rear arms with standard RC10 arms. I didn't even bother with the active suspension. It looks crazy fragile. It drives pretty good, btw.

Paul, where's the servo, esc, etc? Take that baby out and give it a go!

I always thought the active setup looked rickety, but it'll be mighty interesting to see how it works.

i think the fusion speed chassis is more fragile than the tekin. those arm mount holes seem to rip out pretty easy.
