Readers Rides

Post by shodog »

I was lucky enough to get a picture of my runner Rough Rider in R/C Car action magazine

Image

I really dig running this buggy. It's heavy and doesn't handle worth a shit but it makes you appreciate just how far buggy technology has progressed over the last 25 years

More pics of this buggy can be found here http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=10628&id=34

Sweet buggy. Where do you get the Rothmans decals at?

They came from a Porsche 959 decal sheet. Rotmans is one of my favorite liveries. In my showroom I have several cars done up in it.

Too bad half of the readers that see your pic in the mag probably don't know what it is. Its always nice to see that people aren't afraid to run vintage stuff especially when it is in the condition your is in. Much props to ya Jim

I am not trying to go outside the bounds of this thread..... but Melvin I have repos of the Rothmans 959 decals if you would like one (at my cost of course). I just traded with Jim for a set. Jim, if you received it, maybe you can post your thoughts on what your impression was.

Thanks guys!

Jay

Just got the April issue in the mail. Anybody also notice apexspeed's jrxs touring car in that issue's reader's rides? The clean red and white checker board paint.

Yeah, neat we both made it into the same issue. The Editor saw my car posted somewhere last July and all of the staff loved it. They asked me for high res photos to put in the magazine a while ago. I had actually forgotten about it, to tell you the truth.

So the funny thing is, I got 2 little sheets of RCCA decals in the mail the other day for a magazine I stopped reading about 10 years ago. LOL. They didn't even send me the issue—I had to go track it down and buy it.

The tires are from an AYK buggy. I have also seen them sold as a race prep tire. They have every third paddle shaved off.
