Modern wheels on Yokomo works 91 and above

Post by Alex B »

All

Quick question regarding the fitment of modern wheels with the right offset on Yoke 91 and over.

Would it be possible to remove the drive pin from the uj's and replace the axles with YR4 equivalents?

I have a set of YR4 UJ's, but have know idea on how to remove the pin and give it a try, if indeed its worth a go.

The offset on those original wheels is so small it's very hard to use any other wheels.

I managed to get it right within legal limits, only by using academy wheels (and luckily the tires don't bulge over the edge of the rims much)

They run on 12mm hexes and I had to change a bunch of parts to get it all to work. In the end I felt it costed too much to get it there and is not worth it.
Better look out for a bunch of used wheels and acetone the old tires off

Here it is running at a big indoor race earlier this year: (I hope the photographer doesn't mind non-commercial use of his picture)
