Here is something I have been working on and hope works out to be fairly durable, but we'll see. There is still a fair bit to do, but thought I would let everyone in on the fun.

That is cool! What do we call it? A truggy?

lol, I'm not quite sure! I'm calling it fun...I cant wait to put some sand tires on it and get it to the beach. I see many sand jumps in it's future...I hope that front shock tower holds up, and the chassis to for that matter Thinking about waterproofing the electronics, I hear traxxas has some stuff.

Nooyce! I was working on making an RC10 graphite specialty-built jump car and it was going to look similar to that, but uglier. I love a buggy body, but with over-sized tires and shocks. They all remind me of a Hornet with a Hornet body, but Pumpkin wheels and tires on all four corners. Great work. I may have to dust mine off if I can get all my grills and smokers up and running...

but that Truggy / (or maybe "BUCK" ) is just screaming for the Jconcept narrow front wheels...

you should consider connectin your top deck with the nose section in some sort of way.

yeah, I meant to order the fiberglass sheet longer. I didn't have the chassis to measure when I ordered it. I have to stop getting so excited when coming up with ideas and just take my time, but that's easier said than done. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to do it now, I might just leave it and see how it holds up. I just got my worlds stealth trans today, so I'll post pics later

Could you send me a link to those wheels so I know just which ones you are talking about?

the J82 is a 1/9th scale buggy based on the RC10T4. It Looks like this:
I think the best combination would be the original 3 piece narrow front wheels with THESE TIRES

for now, I took a few better pics, including some of the fancy cutting I had to do on the front shock tower and nose of the chassis. Here is how the stealth fits, both fully extended and fully compressed

What I recently did on my old Traxxas Rad2 Graphite chassis is:

I connected the front bulkhead with 4mm treaded rods and ball ends to the servo mount. You could do the same thing connectin the front bulkhead to your top deck.

I might try something like that if I find there is too much flex.

I got myself a traxxas waterproof steering servo the other day, and I here that they are coming out with a waterproof 1/10 scale brushless esc...if so I might buy one. I want some decent power though, so I will wait to see how it performs for other people.

here is an update on this project. All I need now is a dust cover, which is in the mail and a pinion gear. Action pics will be on the next update with hopefully no broken parts

i foregot to add...the J82 front wheels and a set of paddle tires for the rear are on order

That's really cool. Do you have a list of what pieces you put where. It's quite the mix of brands.

Its funny, In my recent acquisition, i scored a Tamiya conversion and affixed it to my old Runner. the Truck body that was set up on it, had some custom mount that won't clear the wheels, but I had my buggy body on it. Definitely gives it a mean look.

I love it.


It has a real scale desert runner look about it.

Most newer hard core off road truggies, Baja Bugs, & buggies (full size) seem to be running larger tires both front and back these days.

Way cooler look than the typical old school monster trucks!
