Joel Johnson Ultima...

Post by Brandon G »

OK, looking at what crappy pics I have available to me, the worlds winning Ultima driven by J.Johnson is running a tomahawk body. The graphics, as far as I can tell, appear to be a mere silver and pink stripe angling forward from the bottom of the side window to the bottom of the body with a white background. Does anybody have any better pics to confirm these graphics are the only ones on this body?

Such a tiny servo he used. Still, it sure looks like the chassis has a longer wheelbase than the standard ultima.
No way you can mount even a mini-servo with the accu set up that way on a JG chassis for example.

Yeah, I think that chassis looks longer than stock too. Maybe that's why he used the Tomahawk body.

I had the longer xl chassi on my ultima and i tried the battery lenght wise but couldnt get to work it was indoors.
I drove my ultima indoors with an saddle config that was turned 90 degrees and thet worked awsome. I copied it from an car that was participated in the wc 89.

Hi ,
My project stand some parts.(Clear fiber plate for the shock tower).
I have the 132 SH Futaba, and pratically all the parts.
Now i don't have the Yellow rear wheel and the front Tomahawk wheel , and the rear tires W 5032 OH, gold radiator for my Tekin Esc.
This is a pic of JJ car with RC10 front wheel and white rear wheel from Auto RCM Magazine:
I have seen the Ultimahouse web site :D

Seems like Joel didn't mind to have it's car look the same all the time. His wheel choice shows quite some variation ;)
I remember you had a picture with what seemed like losi rear wheels and their big white nylon nuts also

I have a set of aluminum wheels that I purchased from Pargu... Optima rears and Scorpion fronts. I was going to cheat and send them out for powdercoat to achieve the yellow.... Problem is, I believe with the white/grey/pink body the silver aluminum wheels would look much better than yellow...

For the shock tower , normally there're the same that JG s.tower.
The right rear mirror is from the original Tomahawk body,
Bngiles the alloy wheels have better look with the Body colors,
and now you can choose some others wheels , see on the differents pics , RC10,Kyosho...
