:D This is probably the best article I have in all my RCCA mag collection. Back in the day I remember reading about this RC10 and all the controversy around it. Then a few years later this article came out and I bumped into it in a book store. It had been about 2 yrs since I even looked at an RC car as I had found women as a hobby back then...but when i saw this article I had to have it. It was an RC10 wake-up call!!!

The big 2.2 rear tire controversy was also big in the news back then...

Anyone want to guess what month/year this article was published? BTW I hope this isnt already posted here...I looked first but didnt see it...If anyone wants a bigger file to read I can email it let me know...Cheers

PS. I'll post a cool interview with Masami himself that was in the same RCCA...he is the king lol

Nice! Absolutely one of the coolest rc10 articles ever, especially being a Masami car! Thanks superfly!

Cheers

Does anybody know if the arms where injection-moulded just for the prototypes?I guess this is mighty expensive to do only for a dozen of prototypes.May be they came from another Asso vehicle of the era?

i know awhile back, i had asked rpm about punching out some of their old parts. obviously, they said no. they said it costs about $400 to set up and make the molds (a-arms). now for a company like ae, that isn't much at all, in my opinion. especially if those arms would have made it into production.

i'm sure they've pissed away more money on items that never even made it to a prototype stage.

sure is a wicked cool little car. it reminds me of the elite exotic factory motocross bikes back in the 80's.

The front bulkhead and front arms , stealth tranny are handmade or CNC prototype.
The front end never produces.

Undoubtedly the hottest RC10 to ever hit a race track. Who wouldn't kill to own a replica of one of these cars let alone the real thing? I know I would! But the custom machined parts would make it near impossible for most of us. LOL

Thank you for mentioning the RC10GX, I just spoke to Andrew at GP3D and have made my preorder, expectation is they are just weeks away from pushing these out. Super excited, since that article came out and I first saw that RC10 along side the YZ10 I always dreamed about owning one and am now close to having them both, finalllly.

I also spoke to the guy making the chassis’s about a custom stealth one to finish my NIX, will let you know how the conversation goes.
