Re: 2009 Vintage On Road Nationals
The M-01 chassis is definetely included and possibly the M-02. I will have to do more research on that. (or does somebody here know for sure?) The M-03 came out well after '96. So to answer to your question is no, the M-03 is too late of a vehicle to be considered vintage.budhatrain wrote:not knowing anything about on-road and vintage in this category- so would like tamiya m-03mini cooper be included in the 1/10 mini?

Re: 2009 Vintage On Road Nationals
Another update:
We will not be running an oval track for this race. I talked to Robert, the track owner, and we came to the conclusion that it will not be a good idea. Here's why: the oval cars will be generating a lot of speed. The concrete that the carpet sits on is not the smoothest, and would make handling these cars bad. Not saying the road course racing will suffer. Rob knows where all the concrete issues are and does a great job of designing the track layout around the problem areas.

Quoting myself.Brandon G wrote:The website will be up shortly. It will contain all the info you will need as far as location, date, classes, etc. I will list definitive rules in this forum thread here as well.
This race is planned for the end of February. 19th practice, 20th practice/qualifiers, 21st qualifiers/mains.
We will be in contact with sponsors, but based on the economy, I would not expect too much from them.
I will be posting this race info on many of the other well populated RC websites as well. It will be on RC signup too.

Re: 2009 Vintage On Road Nationals
I know the rules are coming, but what are the rules regarding parts like shock towers, steering components etc...? How much of the car has to be vintage? Just trying to decide which direction to go with the build I have in mind.

Definitely gearbox. I'm just curious if a home-made shock tower or something like that was allowed. I can wait for the site, I was just looking around at work this morning for different ideas.

Re: 2009 Vintage On Road Nationals
You can build what ever kind of shocktower you want, as long as you could have made it in 1996 it's legal.
The main rules are pre1996 chassis's and 17.5 or 27turn stock motor.
