Im 30 years old married to my wife Socheath with two girls Deja(12) Dalia(9) Master Audi Technician in Cape cod Mass.I got my start in rc when i got a job at my local rc track. Archers lane and rc raceway when i was 8 it was a asphalt oval so from then on i was hooked (i mean bad) I raced 3 rc10l's. Now i restore vintage pan cars its a little obsesive i have about 120 finished cars and about 70 or so waiting. Its crazy that i found this website because it seems i have been looking forever and finding nothing. And now that im here i see alot of names i know like mr lexan and others from bidding on ebay thinking who are these guys and where are they so we can chat and exchange pics and things. Well i love everthing vintage rc even though im a pan car guy i have a restored rc10 graphite and original rc10 and a rc10t. I have been talking with Steve Rule on the phone (the original owner of Bolink) and he has been setting me up with new old stock and any info and contacts to help me start a tribute site to vintage pan cars and bolink mostly pics and bio. Hope to enjoy this site for a lot longer so happy i found it.

I guess it's about time
I'm Anthony, currently 32 and living in Upstate NY. I'm married with 2 kids who both love playing with and working on the RC's with me. I am a Family Practice physician employed at a local multi-specialty group practice.
I've been into RC on and off since the late 80's. I was visiting the grandparents in florida in 87 or so and got to see a 1/8 scale on-road race at some track in fort lauderdale, Cool stuff! I picked up a couple magazines at the track shop and was hooked. I eventually got my parents to buy me a kit. My first hobby grade RC was a Kyosho stinger, followed shortly by an original Ultima. I raced off-road a few times in NYC where I grew up, but mostly I bashed around the yard and streets with my friends. After getting a jrx-2, I traded my ultima for my first of many Tamiya lunchbox trucks. I sold off everything except one lunchbox in 1999 while in med school to help pay for an engagement ring.
Eventually I got back into it with the help of ebay. I was getting some of the tamiya vehicles I had wanted BITD, hanging online at robbys old tamiya board which eventually morphed into tamiyaclub, and at the original RCMT.com. I started to get a few modern cars as well, racing a 12L3 and a 12L3-Oval on the carpet. When that track closed I picked up an rc10GT to race at a local dirt oval. The track owner gave me a JRX-T for free which he had found roadside in the trash  Then I found this site and my collection exploded. I've had many rc's over the years and have enjoyed them all from the microsizers up to the baja5b.
Here is a pic of me on the drivers stand at the Vintage Off-road Nats, as taken by mrlexan.

I guess its my turn. ( veteran of the trade newbie to this site ) :D

My name is Jason and I live in Flushing, Michigan. The name "Gixer Jay" was a nickname that I was give when out stunt riding motorcycles years ago. Hence the Suzuki "GSXR" to Gixer and "Jason" to Jay.. I'm married, 32, and work as a Automotive Service Director in a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep Dealership. I've been into R/C since the day I can remember. I've been R/C racing since about 1985 and it has been a huge passion of mine even to this day. Back Yard Racing, Club Racing, and US National Events have led me to what I am today. Collecting all the old classics I use to race back in the day is something I started doing back in about 2001. Mainly collecting new in box "un-touched sealed and preserved" kits has been my nitch for quite some time now which is where the SealedCity ( name of my collection ) name came from. I never really got into the building, shelf queens, driving, or restoring any of the old classics mainly because most my time is spent working on my current cars preping for up and coming race events. :P I've actually known about this site for a while and have read many threads over time behind the scenes. Taking the time to register and letting go of a rocky past with another 10Talk member / moderator has been the onset delay for my decision. Anyway, its water under the bridge and I hope to get to meet new faces here plus hang with all the old faces of Tamiya Club. 8)

Hello,

Eventhough Many of you already know me from the VONATs, a lot more of you don't know me :P my name is Freddy, 29 yrs. old, I'm from New Haven, Connecticut, born in Puerto Rico raised half and half, P.R./CT, I'm a Machine Operator for the biggest sail company in the world, North Sails. I'm studying to finish by Barchelor's Degree in Bus. Admin. w/ concentration in Acctg. (yes I can be handling your money in the future  ). Married for 9yrs. and have two beautiful girls, one of which some of you might know as Little Miss Tecnica.

My first R/C car was a Tamiya Blackfoot that my uncle got me for Xmas when I was 8 or 9 and have been hooked ever since, I've had all kinds of tamiyas, but my first quality truck that I could race was and MRC MT-10m, that slowly I modded to be able to race with the 10t, the only problem was, there was no track near where I lived, and although I've always liked off road racing, I was never able to enjoy it.

Fast forward and 20 or so r/c cars later, I own and RC10T, losi XX, Tam. Mini Cooper, RC10T3 and traxxas Bullet. I race my first real event at the VONATs and now I can't get enough off road racing, hopefully RCHR (Mark/John) stay in business for a long time, cause I'll be going there regularly :D

here's me and my wifey...
(thanks Jay aka Mr. Lexan for the Picture)

Hiya folks,

Name's Aaron. I'm a 35 year old husband and father of two, and am taking advantage of having kids so that I have an excuse to get back into the RC car hobby! :D

When I was a wee lad I was into free flight, control line, and later RC planes. Got my first hobby grade car in 1983 or so. It was a Kyosho Nimitz-06. It had a very simple VW type trailing arm suspension that I've since learned Kyosho used in the '70s in their electric powered buggy (Sand Something-or-other, I can't remember the name...). It had a simple .06 nitro engine with a single needle carb, and had a bevel gear tranny with no dif. You started it by turning the rear wheels by hand! I still have the car, but don't have the body or box anymore. Looked like a rally car...

Got a Kyosho Circuit-10 Wildcat buggy after that. It was a headache, with poor castings and parts that were constantly vibrating apart, despite loctite. Weighed about 100 pounds (so it seemed) and had STIFF suspension. Started by pushing an airplane starter against a cone and running the starter. This would push the clutch bell against the flywheel and would (in theory) grip via friction and transfer the starter's rotary motion to the flywheel and engine. Getting it to grip was a PAIN. Still have that car (with the OS Max .10 FSR and the clamp on cooling head). One of these days I'll clean it up and run it again.

Moved on to an MRC/Tamiya Frog. Enjoyed dependable, relatively problem free RC action. Bought lots of hop up parts. Raced that a bit. Move up to the 'new' gold tub RC10. Raced that for a while. Sold the Frog to my cousin for way too little $$$. Traded away the RC10 (gasp....gonna get banned for that-LOL).

Bought a Mauri Big Bear. Enjoyed running (and breaking) it. Fun truck with great realism due to the detailed ABS body and very realistic tires (moreso than any other RC monster truck tires I've seen since). Things like the bumper, body mounts, chassis, and dif gears died with alarming regularity. Still had a blast with it, and am glad I kept it. Someday I'll get a new chassis, body mounts, and bumper for it and will run it gently some more.

Got an RPS Yokomo SE 4WD buggy and raced that. Enjoyed the amazing rough track handling (all tracks in my area that weren't ovals were rough). Installed the Hot Trick dual front shock setup. Put up with that dang chain. Stretching, derealing, skipping piece of @##$@#$$@... I seem to remember there being a belt conversion for it that I could never justify paying the $$$ for. Beat a lot of Optimas with that car, and am extremely glad to have it up on the mantlepiece (flanked by a couple of 21+ year old club trophies). I'll run it a little bit again soon. I'll paint up a new body for it too.

Then..............the local track closed down, the flying club lost their field, and other teenage pursuits (motorcycles, 1/1 cars, girls-----not necessarily in that order) got in the way of going to farther away tracks such as Delta. The RC stuff all got stored deep within my folks garage. Years went by. Schooling, real employment, and a wife came along...

.....And then kids came along too. My oldest saw the Big Bear at my folks place and asked about it. I got to thinking. At first I was going to get it running for the youngster to run. Common sense prevailed (the Big Bear was much too brittle for a youngster to run, especialy with the dearth of replacement parts) and I got a craigslist Traxxas Stampede instead. Kid loved it. Still does.

That got me a thinkin' about RC again. Checked out the local flying club (formed years ago, with many vets from my OLD flying club). Nobody remembers me as I'm not 12 anymore. Great club....but they're loosing their use privelages in the field they've had for years (sound familiar?). Bought some RC magazines. Talked to guys in shops. Bought a used craigslist Revo cheap and proceeded to replace every part on it (here I go again). Bought a used Losi XXXNT AD2. Raced both trucks a bit. Got a second hand XXX-4 and have raced that with some success (these new brushless powered 4WD buggies are a wee bit faster!!!). Am active in more than a few RC forums. Dug the OLD stuff outa storage and moved it to my garage. Started poking around the net for Yokomo stuff. Found this site..........

Once I figure out how to post pics here I'll shoot some of the vintage stuff and put them up.

Well this is probably a great place for my first post.

34 year old husband and father of two. I have been racing since 1990 and my first car was an rc10. I really got serious about racing a couple years later and have been racing ever since. I now have a few sponsors that help out and I race about 35 weekends per year. I just recently grew interested in vintage rc.

I remember a little about the older cars but I really know more about the newer stuff. So, if you guys have any questions for me about b4, t4, b44 I can help but I will certainly be leaning on you guys to help me remember about the older stuff!

Here is a current pic for your humor!
