Yeah, the Fantom rollout is what I had in mind. I recall that you had to withdraw your order Jeff.

I don't see these problems with other RC manufacturers. When they post a new model, it's usually ready to ship in a month. And you don't see their shipments going into select markets while others are made to wait. The port of LA isn't the only means to bring items to the US so if they chose that route then that was a mistake.
Especially for these long lead time items, Amain really should charge your card when the order ships not when it's placed - like other online retailers I've dealt with.
Like everyone, I've been patiently waiting but it's really beginning to annoy me.

...and it's nice to come here and vent. :D

Maybe you don't watch the space enough... It's common problem with Tamiya as well in Europe. And for Kyosho, there is also similar situation in Europe, but this is even more complex with new release, as I believe they practice "Ferrari like marketing" : make sure there is at least few kits less than the demand released on the market each time...

Edit : adding my stone to the piece. I don't mind the Mid, I would like one. But not yet. I'll probably wait a year or two :-D

I'm going to double down on the not Kyosho of America's fault on the slow release. I talked with a vendor of mine that brings engines from Japan. It is taking 3 months for his containers to arrive and make it through customs.

It's finally here! 😎
I will go for the original white version since I have an original vintage one in the collection.

Just throwing this out there for people that are interested in this. I just placed a ~$400 order for another vehicle with Tower, and ended up getting a pretty good deal I think, and everything I did should translate directly over to those looking to purchase a $389.99 Optima Mid.

If you become a Premier Super Saver with Tower, until the end of the month (June 2022), you get $75 off any order over $370. https://www.towerhobbies.com/coupon-codes/

To become a Premier Super Saver member, you first have to become a normal Super Saver member, which is free, and then upgrade to Premier, which is $10. So, for your Mid order, you would actually be saving $65 off list price.

Tower also has free shipping on orders over $99 (normal folk) or $75 for Premier folk. https://www.towerhobbies.com/shipping/ Now, this link says that items must be in stock to receive this, but I put a Mid in my cart as a Pre Order, and it offered FedEx 3-5 Day shipping for free. Maybe this won't actually work, but it let me get this far. So yea, $334 total with tax and shipped.

Now, if you don't want to become a Premier member, you still get $55 off and free shipping, so it only costs you $10 more than being a Premier customer.

I missed my email the other day from AMain asking if I wanted to keep my Mid on order. This morning I saw they canceled it and refunded my PayPal account.

Oh well...guess I gotta get back in line somewhere. Since I pre-ordered way back in February I was hoping to have a decent spot in line.
