jep, that was on a rpm buggy. the wheels barely stuffed inside the fenders, but at full steer at max compression the front tires would rub wicked bad. one time out as a runner and the paint would be borked... it looked cool though on a shelf rig.
i later on was messing around with that body on a houge trailing arm chassis with the narrow front end. it stuffed the wheels much better.

hmmm... looking at that old pic gives me ideas of modding some narrow arms to the front and running some hilift 1.9 wheels and tires...

i dunno, theres lots of cool stuff to pick from nowadays as well. it just sucks it cant all be available all the time.
i gotta say though, it seems that the older lexan bodies had alot more character and diversity than todays.

Thats for sure the Guy at my LHS gets mad everytime I complane that the aftermarket SUCKS now. back in the 90's when I was racing you could get 100 different bodys for any popular car or truck. now all you can get is stock

or a crowd pleaser witch is only an ugler version of stock

what happened to all of the Cool Bodys they use to make. seem they only make them for the TMaxx that really sucks If you gave me a TMaxx I would run over it with my truck

You talking about a full size truck, right? Cause Losi doesn't make anything that could touch a t-maxx.
Just messin' with ya' bear.

Cant say I am a Traxxas Fan, but you have to give them the Comeback award

Absolutely! The original Traxxas buggy (RC10 ripoff) was a joke on the track. I never thought I'd say it, but today I actually own a Traxxas vehicle.

I took almost 20 years off from r/c and got back in 2 years ago. I couldn't believe the changes-- and that Traxxas was everywhere. To try a 'modern' buggy, I found a XL1 Rustler on eBay for less than $100 shipped. It's definitely a hearty truck-- this is my second season racing it at the local track. It still has all original a-arms, linkages, steering servo, front tires.... the only thing I've changed is shock oil weights, rear tires, idler gears, ESC and motor (oh and bearings... lots of bearings-- 5mmx8mm). Last week was the start of the summer points series and I TQ'd and took the mod truck main (5 entries). I think most of the other guys have AE and Losi-- there's one guy with a VXL Rustler at the track, but he was not running.
We are adding the spec Slash class at the track-- this week I think. They are realistic looking and very fun (to watch and drive). It's a class that requires you to drive better, rather than hopping it up. I am trying to sell a T-Maxx right now to help fund a Slash..... yes, I have a T-Maxx too (cheap find... not for me).
The spec class seems to be a dying breed, but it's the best way to get new racers, young and old, involved in this great hobby.
