Re: GoMachV’s 3d printing thread
the biggest issue would be the strength of the home printed parts. They just aren't there quite yet. Its getting closer and closer though, its just a matter of time.

Re: GoMachV’s 3d printing thread
Been playing around with stealth gearboxes, experimenting with gear mesh to get things perfect. Made some windows on a prototype so I could see it
Once that was done and I had a good working gearbox, I wrapped it up inside a 6 gear shaped housing complete with fake upper outer bearing support and dust shield holders. Bolts down to stealth or 6 gear holes, and the top will have both patterns as well. This was just for fun, something I’ve wanted to do for a while. These are just printed as draft quality, I have a few small things to fix before a make a proper high quality print.

Re: GoMachV’s 3d printing thread
I took some time for myself over the weekend and drew up the RC12e. The print is very fragile, things such as the linkage hole right at the edge of the steering arm just don’t work well for printed parts. It becomes a choice of strengthening the design for a runner or leaving it for display. Not sure what direction I will go, it was just fun to sit down and spend some time on something other than work

Re: GoMachV’s 3d printing thread
I stopped by my buddies machine shop today to pickup some rc parts he made for me and he was showing me his new Haas 5 axis mill which is pretty sweet and then he said come check out my new 3d printer which was a Markforged brand and he had some protoype medical pieces he was doing out of carbon reinforced black nylon and they looked everybit as smooth as a molded parts and felt extremely durable.

I wouldn’t mind getting a quote from him on my own prints. I don’t want to sit here and print off a dozen lol
