Yes they won't ship to Canada so I had to ship them to a friend in the US and then he'll ship them to me.

Re: Cox/Kyosho Circuit 1000 Buggy
I sent an email to RCScrewz and they are going to take care of this for me. I wanted to share what he said with RCMan about the flathead screws:
"Send the kit back to us...we have found a tomahawk original manual on ebay and have completed a screw kit for it."
The 2.3mm thread is a 2.5mm thread (which if you take a set of calipers) and mic the diameter a 2.5mm is 2.387. So we have those and a 3mm screws mics out to be 2.8997 which a lot of hobbiest don't know. screw diameters are a reference only number
Thanks & God Bless

I think they're full of sXXX, I would like to see if their screw kit works for the Tomahawk, as I explained it's not that easy.

Re: Cox/Kyosho Circuit 1000 Buggy
you kyosho guys are screwed, literally. They used some oddball fasteners, for sure.
If you are having trouble finding what you need, I'm sure thee guys will be able to help:
http://www.microfastenings.com/MachineScrewThreads.aspx#a6
they have the correct M2.3x.4mm screws.
to answer the other questions:
the 'O/' symbol means OD, outer diameter. The guy from the fastener place is correct when he says the nominal thread diameter is smaller than the OD, because you can't make threads 100% engagement, they will have a rounded crest, and thus not exactly the nominal thread OD. He is NOT correct with his statement that the threads are ok, in that there are a bunch of oddball 2.xmm fasteners, so a M2.3x.4 is different than an M2.5 x .45 thread.
good luck. you guys should get a list of screw needed together, and order up a big kit from the link I posted, you have to get a quote and such so larger qty's are always a better idea for cost. worst case, order a big number, and become 'THE' kyosho screw specialist, until your stock is depleted.

Re: Cox/Kyosho Circuit 1000 Buggy
I am sort of skeptical now as I am sure this guy is going by manuals and doesn't have all these models to physically test proper fitting. I am sending the kit back today and should receive the Tomahawk kit by the end of the week. I will let you know how they fit. I am not going to force them, if they don't go in easily, then I will assume they are not the correct size.

I will go home tonight and confirm and take photos.
We need proof and I hate people who THINK they know what they are talking about.

Re: Cox/Kyosho Circuit 1000 Buggy
That would be great RC!!! I agree, we need to verify this and confirm it. I will also post pics of the kit when I receive it so you all can see what it looks like and what all is included. The Scorpion kit I got looked very nice, good quality. I have seen some dispute about stainless steel vs. 12.9 Steel alloy...doesn't matter to me. Since it will be for the shelf, the stainless will look nicer.KyoshoScorpionKid wrote:I will go home tonight and confirm and take photos.

Re: Cox/Kyosho Circuit 1000 Buggy
I've been working on the rear guard. One holder was cracked and the other was completely broke:

After several layers of JB Weld, I finally have something to work with:

Not sure how well this will take paint?!? I plan on getting one of the aluminum rear guards at a later time, this will suffice for now though.
I have sanded (and sanded) the servo plate, but the carbon fiber is VERY durable. I am trying to remove all the scratches from it. I am unsure about repainting this as well. I do have a pretty awesome dying setup I use for Xbox controller parts, but have never tried carbon fiber. With the controller pieces, you have to take your time and only dip it in the boiling dye in small increments to prevent warping, but carbon fiber is much stronger. Don't really want to "experiment" as this is the only one I have, but a new replacement can be had for about $20.

That nasty scratch is still visible even though it feels smooth. Paint may cover it, but the dye will probably not. I have tried many different grits on it but it has remained stubborn.

Okay so I took a brand new one out of the package to try didn't want any issues. I took the screw out of the scorpion holding down the tub and tried it.

Re: Cox/Kyosho Circuit 1000 Buggy
Got the driver doll and body ordered from TBG. Figured I would order now since it will be a few weeks before it arrives. Everything seems to be coming along nicely. My main priority now is finding rims. I wish I could order some from Pargu, but the price is just a bit steep for me (although I may have to). I remember Lars said the tires are 1.9" for the front and 1.5" for the rear, what size rims will I need to look for? I have very little knowledge of RC tires and rims, so I am looking for any help possible. If you guys happen to have any links to help me out with sizes and brand alternatives, I would appreciate it. I can't really seem to find any info on this
I would like to find a set of aluminum or chrome rims to put on this Tomahawk.

Re: Cox/Kyosho Circuit 1000 Buggy
The only period correct rims are Tamiya like this.

Re: Cox/Kyosho Circuit 1000 Buggy
I would save up your pennies and buy a set on Pargu Wheels with the black centers, you will need to wait but it will be worth it.
I am a puritan so I don't like putting other manufacturers parts on my Kyosho cars especially Tamiya.
Just like when I build all my scorpions, non of them have repro bodies they are all original but I am running out of originals.
I think it's a slap in the face to see other stuff on your Kyosho but that's just me. If you buy one of my car you'll know that only original equipment went back in to it, the ONLY thing I change is the screws because I realize people may want to take the car apart again and I want to make that as easy as possible.

Re: Cox/Kyosho Circuit 1000 Buggy
I haven't seen the rims @ Pargu with the black centers, but that is what I really want. I have sent a few emails, but never got a response. If I drop $50 on something else, I will later wish I had just got the good ones.
