Nikki, where are you getting your carbon? What type of carbon are you using? I found all sorts of carbon on ebay, but I'm not sure which to get. Thanks

Carbon fiber plate for looks can be had on eBay cheap. Carbon fiber laid up properly for our rc applications can be found at composite craft or one of the other manufacturers. There are a lot of terms that I don't know that describe how it is laid up, having to do with how the layers are stacked (orientation) that matter for rc usage.

So far I have used only Fibre-Lyte material and machining services in my projects. Onroad car NIX10LC has full carbon chassis and in this buggy project I have used Fibre-Lyte's "carbon660" material which is a mix of carbon fiber and glass fiber layers. It's stronger than full-carbon but has more flex. I have been more than happy with these materials... and machining quality also. If you want to take the easy and verified path - just order the machined carbon660-chassis from Fibre-Lyte. Download DXF and PDF files of your choosen chassis from the start of this topic and send them to Fibre-Lyte.

These are the options at the moment:

Thanks for the insight Nikki. I was thinking of modifying the P14 chassis to look like the 9200L chassis.

You don't need to modify...

Dang Nikki!!!! You rock son! lol. Awesome work buddy. Do you think with the longer chassis, it might flex too much using 3mm carbon 660? Do you think a top deck would be a good idea or simply make the chassis out of 1/8" carbon? I've got all the parts except the white parts and chassis for this build. I'm using B3 parts for this bad boy.

You're welcome.
I'm no expert on judging chassis flex but I think carbon660 material is really rigid in 3mm. Personally I wouldn't be afraid of making NIX9200LP14 of it.
Top deck affects mainly bending stiffness (or how should I say it). Torsional stiffness comes mainly from lower deck.

I made a quick torsional stiffness comparison based on just chassis geometry.
Color indicates displacement. Bending has been exaggerated to make it clearly visible in the picture.
Bending force is equal on every chassis. These are the maximum values in front corner of each chassis.
NIX9200 -----> 1.192mm
NIX9200P6 ---> 1.205mm
NIX9200P14 --> 1.251mm
NIX9200L -----> 1.295mm
NIX9200LP14 -> 1.374mm
For example:
NIX9200P14 compared to NIX9200 is 1.251/1.192 = 1.049 -> so it has around 5% more flex.
NIX9200LP14 compared to NIX9200P14 is 1.374/1.251 = 1,098 -> around 10% more flex.

Gray wealth of info Nikki. I emailed FiberLyte about making the LP 14. No word yet on cost or time frame.

Hello everybody and Happy New Year.
I just got Fibre-Lyte price information about all NIX9200-chassis versions. All versions have same price because dimensions are so close to each other.
All versions listed in my previous message costs:
GBP51.75 + shipment in 3mm Carbon660 material (VAT included, only inside EU). Outside EU price is GBP43.13 + shipment.
GBP64.95 + shipment in 3mm Fullcarbon material (VAT included, only inside EU). Outside EU price is GBP54.13 + shipment.
Just Email them chassis version and material you want and that's it. DXF's are all there
