I'd go with that.300D50 wrote:Ok, I'll bite the bullet.
Anyone have an issue with $50 for a case?

Do, or do not! There is no 'try'!
RC; Boats, Buggies, Trucks, Bash's, Racing and of course 'VINTAGE'!

Not an issue for me, $50buck sounds reasonable for an alloy gearbox

Are you gonna make the bulkhead as well ??

I think the bulkhead will work out, just need to wait till Johnboy and I can get our schedules synced up.

Re: Discussion about possible aluminum transmission and part
I'd like to get it to ya before Sunday if possible. I'll send both cars (the terminator might have a bulkhead like others posted earlier), a couple different stealth gearboxes complete (2.25 and 2.6.1) along with some tools....you'll have free reign to tear into them, just try not to lose any parts. lol. I'll give ya a quick rundown on some simple stuff when we link up. Next week I'll be in the field for a week...lately seems I'm getting off work after 5:30. Friday I have duty and Sat night I have the races. Just let me know what's good for you. If ya need any D50 parts, come on up...or we'll just figure out where to link up. In the future I'd be down for some of your parts when I start my next build...I'll just be happy to help out some people link up.

Re: Discussion about possible aluminum transmission and part
There shouldn't be any issues with that price...you've allready lowballed it for even the tightest of wads .300D50 wrote:Ok, I'll bite the bullet.

I'd be in for a couple myself at that price...

I don't think that's at all unfair.I'd be down for two at $50 each.

Re: Discussion about possible aluminum transmission and part
Glad I hit a good price-point.
Ironically, the Delrin will actually end up being a bit more than the aluminum, but I think I can adsorb that cost without much issue.
If all goes well, I'll be meeting with Johnboy Thursday, and this project can start really going.
Is there a way to get a poll put up so that the numbers are easier to get a handle on?

Re: Discussion about possible aluminum transmission and part
I understand where you are coming from but Honestly it would be better to do an 'order' at a time. I Would do like 10 at a time to start with and then another 10 until the demand dies down. I have seen a trend of threads like this that everyone in the world thinks its a great idea and say they will take 2 or one for sure then not have a response when it comes to actually spending the money. Of course this is an opinion of mine but have seen it happen over and over thru the years and its not aimed at anyone in particular.300D50 wrote: Is there a way to get a poll put up so that the numbers are easier to get a handle on?
I forgot about the delrin you mentioned earlier though. I'd be in for 2 of those myself (see...its already happening ) along with some other stuff if you decide to do it.

Re: Discussion about possible aluminum transmission and part
True, but once I break even on stock prices, I can afford to sit on a pile of parts, can always turn the aluminum ones back into yota's or pop cans.
Main reason I wanted to get numbers was so I knew how much stock to order, since I don't currently have any 2x1/2.

Yep, I can get natural delrin.
Likely will either be Mcmaster or Usplastics for it, I get the Al from a local supplier.
