I just sent a email to John Broadhurst at JC racing about the JRX 5 spokes and this was the response.

We havnt forgot buddy. There has been a few more people asking about this recently also.

Watch this space, it will happen.

So from this we should be seeing the finished product soon.

Basically what we agreed on was a retooled B3 front and XX rear. These are the closest for offset.

The re-tooling will be a 5 spoke design with a flat face and angular spokes similar to the original Losi 5 spokes.

As for colors he asked me if I wanted red and I replied that orange, red and black would be the most popular. White and yellow would probably sell but not as much as orange or black.

very cool, I just removed my xx spindles from my Se it didnt work as well as I hoped it looks fantastic but the reality is the turning ratio wasnt good enough

I'll have to keep an eye on JC's ebay page then. If these come out before I buy spindles and carriers from the RB5 to do a conversion, I'll just jump on them.

or you can just pick up some HPI wheels

That was my original plan Rick. BUT, if JCs come out fairly soon before I buy the rb5 spindles/carriers, axles, and bearings.... It'll be cheaper to do the stock losi spindle/carrier/axle/bearing and the jc wheels. BUT then again, IDK... with the shipping, 1 set of JC wheels is over $20.. i can get the set of HPI's shipped for $14 or so... I guess it's something to think about, and think about... until I commit to one setup and buy.

$20.00? No. If you email your order directly to John or Colin it works out to about $5 a pair shipped. I would not be going through all this trouble if there was not a huge upside. My last order was for 10 pairs of rims and it came to $55 to my door.

As far as I am concerned they are doing me and the vintage scene a huge favor by making these custom wheels. I know which companies are going to get my hard earned dollars. HPI is not one of them.

When the JRX rims are done I will be putting in a bulk order so it should be pretty cheap. When thats going to happen I dont know.

I guess I'm just not "in the know" about getting those wheels. Ebay says like $12.94 for the wheels, and then I was looking at the "signed for" mailing option to the US @ 6.25 lbs + ~$9... I guess the shipping is actually only 2.99lbs ~ $4.50 regular. Besides, If he replicates the original shape of the JRx2 wheel, I'll go for that. When I first got the idea, the HPI was the closest 5 spoke I could find... and it doesn't even look that close to the original wheel. Think I may hold out for these to become available.

I am not trying to tell you what to do, just help you from makeing the same mistake as I did. you may have the same geometry problems as I had trying to race mine. the point is if your going to race it I wouldnt do it. Brandon G's pro with the lxt spindles B4 wheels ran great he finished 5th in the A main aganst some very good cars. and if he didnt get punted on the last lap he would have been much higher than that. his handled so much better than my car. even with him driveing my car. the hub captured bearrings are a different off set and these cars dont have enough steering anyway. it changes it for the worst. just my 2 cence, I would wait for the wheels I am. I picked up some HPI's in the mean time to hold me over. with Brandons set up you can run B4 wheels their cheap just ugly

I don't even mind B4 wheels - if they are the Jconcepts rulux spoked ones. They looked good on RCVeterans car. My original intent for my build was kind of an updated x2, with classic body and wheels. The more I think on it, I may not even do the original body, nor original wheels.. IDK/....Im so confused?!

Definitely dont do that. They will certainly be way more expensive on Ebay. If you can wait just a little longer we can do a bulk buy and get the best price. Dont forget they also have RC10, Tamiya, Kyosho, Shuey, Traxxas and Yokomo rims too.

Are you upset that you sold the car? OR did you think I was being sarcastic and didn't like them....cause I did like them. I'm just not a big fan of the flat dish, stock B4, no style wheel. Rulux wheels are cool to me, they are a go to if I decide to change the original direction of my car.

No I took it as a compliment. Upset I sold the car, no, but it was a nice car and I hope it is actually getting raced, my time to race was limited and seeing it sit on shelf was harder.

I've got B4 wheels all around on mine. Yeah it's boring to look at but functional. If JC comes out with the 5 stars, you bet I'll switch over.

So, with a little guidance from a fellow racer, I found an off the shelf part to convert the front end to use 22 wheels, rear was really easy as well. No loss in track width either

So, for the rear:

Traxxas Slash rear hex, 5 link arms spaced in, low profile nuts (just to be safe):





for the front:

Kyosho part # LA254, carriers (hinge pin hole needs an ever so slight reaming for stock pins).
Losi part # TLR1068, front axles
Losi part # TLR1067, kingpin screws
Losi part # TLR1069, front wheel nuts
Losi part # TLR1061, trailing steering knuckles
4 metric wheel bearings, 3mm button head screw
