Thanks for the heads-up on the turnbuckles.... I was going to post a thread up in the technical section - I don't need to now
If I was you I wouldn't add up all those prices

..... but you do have a lovely RC10
For what I spent on my Worlds Car (which is nowhere near the specification of Project X) I could have easily brought a B4 Team Kit - but wheres the fun in that?

Some of the items I bought had more than what I needed. For example, the Rulux wheels come in packs of 4. Other stuff that was not used for this project will be used on the next one. Trying to grab a donor car now, and go for a more traditional look, while putting the good stuff into it.
But the next one I do, I'm going to order everything at once.

I put on the 1.125" turnbuckles last night, and they might be a bit to short for my liking. I think that ASc1401 1.30" would probably be much better. I also had to move the shocks in closer on the suspension arm to allow for clearance on the wheel....

Is there a correct wheel/foam tire combo for 2.2 with the right offset for the goldpan? Thinking that if I am going to run this predominately on the road, that I should have a set of foams for this rocket ship....

So I keep busting universals at the joint. I'm going to take the LRP set up out of my Yokomo and put it in this car, and put the Reedy set up in the Red Headed Stepchild project. Hopefully that will stop breaking pins in the universal joint, and I think bee a little better for the transmission. The RHSC is getting a transmission on it that should handle the motor better (and it is newer to boot)
Edited to add: It's a little slower now, but rides SO much better, and doesn't want to flip everytime I turn the car.

I read a few pages back you threw a pin on one of your rears cvas - I am having the same problem - they flying out left and right - what is the best way to prevent this? did you have any more trouble with them?
Not enough grease in the cva? - I just put a little in there (didn't want grease coating everything) and then used the rest of the tube to pack the my tranny.
Does the RC10GT2 pin retainer clips fit the B44 cvas? I see on tower there is a note on the front cvas that they fit those - no note on the rears though.

Thanks - didn't think of that - i gotta order the pins anyway figure I will try those retainers...if they don't fit I will go with heat shrink.
I had tried a wheel/axle pin in one of the cvas so i could at least run it - I had just rebuilt an sc10 tranny because of the known shim problem and wanted to see if I fixed it - however it sheered it off. Couldn't believe there is that much stress on em.

Heat shrink. I actually switched motors/esc out of that one, went from 4900 to 3300. In the Red Headed Step Child I put foams on it with the 4900kv with the B4 transmission and it seams to be doing well. The foam wheels spin a bit more.
The one I am working on now is getting a 6100kv and will be getting heat shrink wrap.....

Confirm - the GT2 retainers fit perfectly.

So this car is getting a new paint job this weekend. I thought I did such a nice job with the Red Headed Stepchild (II) red chassis, and I have a viper body available, why the hell not do a do over?

So I had some time on my hands and was feeling pretty creative.
Pretty happy with the way it came out, just have to put it on the car. Before that, I need to set up the new wheels.....

Buggy looks great man! I can def understand why you built 3 dif RC10s! The building part can get to be as fun as the driving part!
