i have done smaller parts that floated. what i did was just flip them over every so often. they came out just fine.

Well, these are my results (this is very exiting). I drop a bunch of parts in a glass flower vase with regular hydrogen peroxide from the pharmacy and they where outside for 4 sunny days. I move the vase once a day to keep the sun hitting the vase for most of the day (I also turned the vase around) and I would stir the parts with a stick 1 or 2 times a day.
At the end I washed them with regular dish washing soap.

Before During After I don’t remember the last time I had parts this white in my hands, cant wait to built up a new car.

gave this a try myself. put a bunch of parts in a glass jar, filled to about 1" over the parts with peroxide, and put it on the tree stump in the middle of the front yard. I left it there for 3 days, with the cap loosely applied. shook it 2x per day, and just let it sit. Parts are super white. and to my surprise, the peroxide is still active after 3 days. The small cuts on my hand fizzled when I grabbed some of the parts out.

I wonder how this would work on the mags on my dyno that have gotten quite yellow?
Don't know where I'm gonna find a pickle jar big enough to fit them to try

That really shouldn't work I would think. You're dealing with a totally different material. It's fiberglass rather than plastic.

Yea, I realize that. I was just wondering if anyone has tried it. Peroxide whitens many things including teeth, nylon being the least known to me but it works. If I ever have any sunny days I will try the fiberglass.

I put some old towers in my ultrasonic cleaner with just water and they turned out OK. Nothing to brag about. Im going to try to find a cheep UV light to put over the u.s. cleaner and see if I can speed up the process for the plastic stuff.

Anyone tried this with glued wheels and tires?

OK, I did this with a set of fronts and rears and I did not see any damage to the rubber and the white got whiter.

I guess they wheels where not very yellow but they where yellower than the fronts so after the dip they did get whiter.
One of the tranny braces I had from above was very yellow and bad I decided to give it a shot and it came out like new. This was all a 4 day dip, 2 of the days not too sunny but the other 2 straight sun all day.

do you have a before pic of the tires , i just striped my wheels down and have them soaking this week if it cleans the rubber up as well then i wont strip them

maybe put the dyno mags in a upside down garbage can lid???

Has there been a definitive time that is "too long" to keep parts in the 3% peroxide? I have a few jars of parts that I've had in for about 2 days now. The sun exposure was probably only 6 hours or so since yesterday and today was overcast. I have to go in to work tomorrow and cannot put them out in the sun while I'm at work (no secure place to leave them). I was just wondering if it would be ok to leave them in a few more days and put them in the sun when I get out of work? I tried to look through all the pages, but didn't see anything about anyone keeping parts in too long with some sort of damage occurring.
