Wow, can't believe I missed this thread, thanks to Jay for pointing it out.
This sounds like great news. In my opinion reproduction parts should only be made by the people who originally made them, and the new pieces should be marked so they are not confused with the vintage pieces. Looks like we're two for two here, this is awesome! Hats off to you Joe for doing it the right way! I hope you stick with the idea of marking the new pieces in some way. Everybody should take note of this example, this is how to reproduce old, sought after parts. It makes all the new guys happy, and it's respectful to us old die hard types, as few of us as there may be. Heck, I might even be interested in a set to put on my newer Clodbuster. Here's an old set on my old Clodbuster:

Joe, I'm curious if you've seen the Rouge Element Component Clodbuster wheels. They look very nice, and I think owe a lot to your old designs. I have considered buying a set, but I really don't have a truck to run them on. They're a bit pricey, but look like they're worth the money. I'm not sure, but I think whoever runs this company might do they're own machining, they might be another option for making a Tecnacraft resurrection happen, as far as machining.

I'm surprised you don't remember him from Clodtalk. He hasn't posted there in a few years though. I wish I had the picture of him with the transmitter antenna duct taped to his head.
But anyway hes an exceptional machinist and probably could make the rims. I suppose it would all come down to how much he would charge.

Oh yeah, I totally remember that pic of the guy with the transmitter antenna taped to his head, didn't realize that was the Rogue Element guy.

Whee!
I guess I'm one of not too many swedes here, but I know me and my fellow Tecnacraft believers in Sweden will truly appreciate this.
All your efforts are very appreciated, Joe!

Hi Joe - I just wondered whether you had made any progress on this front, or whether you have discovered that the project will not be viable?

New to the board and just about fell over when I saw this thread. I bought a bunch of "misc stuff" from Joe quite a few years ago. In the bunch was a single 1/4 scale rim and tire, the one from the ads. I remember him saying that he had intentions to make a clock out of it for his desk some day (we all know THOSE projects and how far off SOME DAY really is).
Anyway I snapped a picture of it this morning and thought you'd like to see how well the clock "project" is coming. Not quite as shiny, but still pretty impressive. I have the rim, just wish I had the matching set of legs!!
Thanks for making some truly magnificent products back in the day. I'm sure we can look forward to more of the same.

Hey Joe,
While you are makin' inserts, make a few more for me. I never got around to doing it myself!

How 'bout some more eye candy. Looks like I need some fresh foam on those rims (and some better light, and a better place to shoot the pics).

Some of the companies that still exist and have the capacity to remake parts should look at what Tamiya has done with the re-re stuff. I bet they sold more than they ever thought and the 2 SRB's I bought weren't cheap either. There are obviously many people that are into vintage stuff.
