I can't wait to see Mick at the wheel with his old racer again. I leant him my JRX2 a while back at a St Ives meeting and I didnt think I was going to get it back. Im realy glad you have helped him realise this and help him get his old car back again.
Great builds by the way Daz. Keep them coming.

I notice the rear motor plate is plain. My Jrx2 has 'Jrx2' stamped into, the Pro has 'Team Losi Performance' but I also have a new spare that is plain.... was this an early part do you think?
Plain is indeed early motor plate :D

Thanks for the comments guys.

Here are some pics of Michaels car, we did a bit of work to it over the weekend - preparing it for vintage race meetings throughout the year.

One of the first things we did was polish the old shock shafts - man - they were so rough and caked with dried sludge. They came out looking like new. The shocks went back together really well with some shock slime and 30 weight oil - the worked as "smooth as butter" !

Some other body off shots showing just how nice this car really is.

Will get back to my builds now..but just had to share his car with you.

Amazing what a bit of metal polish can acheive on old shock shafts!

Had a great time talking about the old days, in alot of ways I miss them. We are so spoilt now days with amazing equipment and cars. Back then you had to be right on your game with all aspects of the bobby. Now you can just buy it and drive it. Cars are relatively easy to set up and there are so many tuning sheets to get things right. Back then - if you couldnt get the car handling just right - you drove around the problem and made it work.......ahhhhhhhhh - the good old days.

cheers

Ok - back to my cars now.

Just getting towards the end of the original JRX2 new built now.

Heres some pics showing the rear end and a nice little NIB motor I had saved for it. Nice 14Dbl....wont ever run - however the "ïntent" is there! ;)

This one is pretty much done now - I have decided to get into building a runner swb, rebuilding my vintage Pro runner (has done some SERIOUS work without a rebuild). Have put away some parts to build up a new JRX Pro as per kit. I have enough parts minus a chassis to build up a nicely modded SWB as well - if anyone has a SWB NIB chassis - I have plenty to trade!! ;)

Anyways - heres some pics of the new built JRX2.

I have an original shell NIB for this JRX2, also some original wheels and tires as well. Really happy with the builds so far.

Cant wait for Jay to repro the Pro body - his standards are extremely high and I would only consider his shells to put on my new builts....truly excellent work.

Cheers for now - comments and suggestions are of course welcomed.

Cheers

Here is the runner I have been campaigning pretty successfully here at vintage meetings. Has had about 7 hours running (literally) since its last rebuild. This time I am going to go a bit wilder by adding hard body shocks, low friction gears, double bearing diff and a slipper clutch! Might throw in a couple of extra bits as well like RPM front spindles and carriers. This car has been a real champion - being totally reliable for such a long time.

For those interested, I have started to get together a list of what parts I have left over. I will be selling them here on 10talk first - so that you guys can have first pick at the parts.

Cheers

Yeah - it was the one from a few weeks ago - however I did not get the bargain price - I got the "flipper" price.

No matter - wont be flipped again and has gone to an appreciative home. (I still would have loved to have picked it up for 125 bucks!!)

I am so tempted to open it Bear - I really am........

Yeah - I paid 405 plus shipping. Still - in all honesty - I thinnk that is not "too bad" of a price. I remember them being $500 (AU) when they came out, so I think this one was pretty reasonable. Would not pay that amount for a car I did not want badly though!

Wont ever be flipped, there are just some cars that are too important to me! ;)

I am glad you got it, and not other people on here to just jacket up were you couldnt aford it. that happened to me on a pro se, he bought it and put it at 700 were no one could aford it.

With new year over and done, and a few more hours to spare I started building my SWB runner. I decided not to build up a "modded" SWB - mainly because I never really raced the SWB for a long time - I only did a couple of meets and went to the long wheelbase. I had been playing with Ultima's and RC10's (briefly) before that.

This runner is going to have some pretty cool upgrades on it - like the trinity nerfs, RPM uprights and knuckles, Andy's fornt arms (not fitted yet), ball raced steering, RPM 5 link parts, ball raced steering and double bearing diff etc etc. I figured I may as well use the parts and enjoy them on the car, as I dont really feel like chasing down more hop ups or a new chassis for that matter - the LWB was more important to me (as far as memories go enyway).

Nuff talking - here's some pics!:

Yeah - I know its an old chassis - still doesnt mean I wont protect her!! ;)

Starting to take shape nicely.....

Comments, suggestions or questions are as always most welcome.

Cheers
