MB Models in the UK now show their allocation increased from 25 yesterday to 30 this morning. 'stock' showing at 9 (increase from 7 at 2pm yesterday) so i figure they sold another 3 in the last 17 hours.
Price has also gone up from £200 when i pre-ordered to £215 this morning - probably to better align with other sellers pricing of £225
a few other uk retailers i know of..
active scale models,Hockley have 3 pre-orders left apparently (no idea what their allocation but relatively small rc shop compared to thers i listed earlier)
RcRacingUK - first 10pre-orders also get a collectors card from the RCX Show

Tower will charge your credit card when the order gets filled, so there is no upfront payment, hope that helps
Thanks.

Why are these not real rc10's?
it's explained in the part of the quote you removed...
Would be great if someone could please point me to the "white plastic" part of the description so I can force myself into jumping on the bandwagon and pull the trigger
Paul
Well, I don't have it in writing but I asked Cliff Lett at RCX and he told me the kits will have white parts.

I got some info myself btw - Protecting my sources
"Hi Paul, glad you are excited about the re-release! The car won't be identical to the very first Edinger car's release, but more like a Costa Mesa RC10 would be the easiest way to describe it, with the only real departure from the original is having a modified rear bulkhead that has the bottom of the cup removed for clearance for the lipo and the battery cup mounting holes are further forward to accommodate the lipo. The plastics will be white, of course! And yes the run will be limited, probably less than 1% of all the original gold pans ever produced, so it will be MUCH rarer than the original! Hope that helps answer some questions!"
Right - so I bowed to the collective hysteria and pre-ordered 2
Paul

I'll probably use the cheap ones in mine but they'll suit the purpose.
To be correct, cheap Chinese bearings are terrible in comparison to good quality Chinese bearings, just like cheap US bearings are terrible in comparison to good quality US bearings.
I always use high quality ABEC5 certified Chinese bearings in all my cars.
And I'm sure a Taiwanese manufacturer would be pretty offended to be compared with the worst companies in China.

Well there we go, the new chassis should be easily identified from new originals by the battery cup holes. All you have to do is ask the ebay flipper how far the holes are from the front of the chassis to prove whether it's original or rerelease.

My buddy and I each pre ordered 1 car to run on a carpet oval just like the old days. Ordered from Tower.
I wonder what Tower's allocation is for the cars?

Tower is Great Planes and they are one of the top distributors that feed all the shops across the USA, so they will be getting a few

So if these cars will be as rare as they claim who is actually going to run theirs?

I know I will be running mine, but on carpet oval so things don't usually get too messed up.

That is why I got a few of them. One will hit the dirt with brushless for sure. Maybe with a stealth trans on it too.

Tower distributes AE to other (non hobbico/greatplanes) stores? In other words, they are an importer? didn't know that...
