Does anyone know the actual part number?
I looked here in this catalog http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7825&hilit=Proline but they are not listed, but notice all the numbers for wheels are 25XX numbers. Was the 200F a series number rather than part number?

Ruffy,

Proline is one of those companies (like CRP) that was around prior to 1984 but grew significantly with the RC10. The logo (like the CRP logo coincidently) design even changed. It is 200F and I would guess their catalog expanded significantly product numbers needed to evolve as well. This weekeknd, I'll post the header card and get you some pics of the tires I think I have stowed away.

Yes I recall the many times Proline changed since they started. They have quite the history. :D

Fantastic build you have here! It has made me remember so much from the very first days I owned my first RC10 6016 kit, that I am now trying to build a replica of my first buggy. It will have to be a replica because I know I have migrated parts from the first kit to the second build with a new chassis and nose plate (first got thrown out I believe) and so-on after that.

How did I miss this build!!

Your car must be one of my favourite RC10s on this board... theres just something about it... not only because its an early Edinger but mostly that it is your old race car with all the memories & sentimental attachment that comes with it..... the fact that it bares some of your teenage handiwork alongside scrapes & scuffs serve to tell its story.

Alot of the cars that I desire to own are those cars that I owned when I first started in this hobby, but that have long since gone to the great big R/C dustbin in the sky, but somehow when you finally find 'That' car it somehow seems hollow/souless..... it just isn't 'your' old car :?

Make sure you always keep hold of this lovely buggy.... it will never mean as much to anyone else as it does to you 8)

This car is amazing, but what makes it amazing is that it IS your first RC10 buggy, and it is an early edinger!

I sold my early Edinger (with the chassis cleanly cut down - we all did mods) in 1990 to purchase my Graphite Team car, all I have left of it is the paper work, box and one scratched up pale gold nose.............
I have since purchased another Edinger, but it is not quite the same - i will never sell my original Team car, it has been cleaned up but mechanically untouched since it's last race sometime around 1993.
Have fun rebuilding it!
Hi do you know if Edinger made two shades of the light gold chassis? One light and one medium light? Thanks

There were 2 shades of gold.with the cars produced at the edinger address, refer to the 25 years of the RC10 thread for more info- :wink:

For about a year now I've been tossing parts into a shoe box and test fitting a few things, with the goal of re-introducing this thing to the track. Understanding that I needed to make some changes to it to allow me to control it on a modern track (controlled car = less broken stuff), while not doing anything drastic like turning it into something it's not (a CE or a World's), I recently got it to a place that I think is kinda cool...

Starting with a collection of things to swap in...

Image Image Image (yes those 1.5 carriers look a bit odd..and yeah those are 30 degree B4 casters with Matt Francis XXX-T axles in them! :shock: )

Here's to the new OIN ...6 gears and short arms all the way 8) ! There are so many poor 6 gears and and short arms out there that have been discriminated against in the midst of all these 10T towers and B4 topshafts! Power to the spline plate! A little wheel scrub never hurt anybody.

Wow, I sure hope that killer milling job by Jake isn't the 'coup de' gras' of that chassis as it folds when you short a jump-

Daryl Lane hooked me up with a stiffener. Without him it would've stayed on the shelf for sure. I'm flattered that it looks like Jake's work. I did that myself actually.

Pushing the wheel that far out from the steering knuckle pivot isn't going to cause handling problems?

One man's problem is another man's solution. The wheel is actually still inside of the pivot point originally intended for the (Jelly Bean) era cars. And I'm using inline axles, which rotate on a hair of a tighter radius than the trailing type anyways. It's the wheel size that is going to change things most drastically I think.

I don't know if a narrower B4 wheel is a good idea or not. But trying different things like this that make r/c really fun imo. With the battery forward, I think I can get at plenty of steering at this point, which is fine with me, because lord knows I won't be the fastest otherwise :wink: .

(Jake did do the spring retainers on the right btw.. They are spot on!)
