Thanks, I hope it does too, would suck to go to all that effort and it ends up being slower than a 2wd B3

Just hope it doesn't understeer too much with the rear weight bias. It's got a 40/60 weight split, I think most 4WD's are closer to 50/50.

Yeah I think the only thing thats gonna break in a crash is front arms, the B3 front bulkhead is really flexible so the arms never break but this front end is pretty rigid

Gave it a go today, just had a problem with one of the front driveshafts bending due to binding at full lock. I set the servo limit to not go to full lock but had a bad landing off the jump which forced it to full lock. Problem with full lock is it goes over centre on the steering link and can get stuck there. So i'm just sticking some limiters to the steering knuckles to stop it turning too far.

Until that happened it was going alright, put the baldest tyres I had on the back and it was impossible to spin out really, just counter steer and give it more throttle!

I'm real glad for you it turns out a success on the track too after all the work you put in it.

This car ranks high in my top ten of original creations.

Thanks! Raced it in 4WD stock at the race meeting today, had the same problem with the steering locking at full lock if I landed the wrong way off a jump, I think i'll have to modify the steering rack so it can't happen, just need to make a rack with the link holes a little further forward. Apart from that it went pretty well!

Got a couple more pics, there's a video too of one run which i'll get up soon.

B34 looked ok, your lines are ok, I think you were down on power. Wide open track needs pony! If the car has pony, then you are not putting down the power and need better tires. Nice to see it's holding it's own.

Yep lastenfield it's the 89 worlds track which amazingly had remained mostly unchanged for 20 years. That was the last race meeting on it though, this week it's getting completely redone.

Yeah it was a lot slower than a couple of cars running 13.5's (they should be running 17.5). I was running brushed, probably undergeared. Only had 10.5:1 FDR, motor was only warm.
Thinking of trying a one-way in the form of a Losi XX-4 clicker thing adapted to the rear pulley on mine to see how that handles.

wow im glad im not the only one that still uses brushed motors.. can brushed motors compete with brushless motors of today?? i was thinkin of racing again ...nice video, glad i got to see it in action..

if you got a short technical course a brushed moter like a quad or tripple wind may handle smoother and allow you to make less misshaps. I raced my hotdog project with an 18 quad motor on an indoor event not long ago. Only on the long straight you could realy tell how serious the difference between brushless&lipo vs brushed&Ninmh really is
