i got the gt beartrap looking pedals on my torker. they scare me...

Yeah, I have since switched to DX style pedals. The Shimano DX has to be the best pedal design of all time.

Oh, and DX pedals will definitely cut you up too, but nothing like the damage a bear trap can do.
