If you don't need a "correct" end, just about any short 3mm end will work. You may need some spacers or shims on some front arms.

The old shock shafts are actually 0.125", with 4-40 threads. They are close enough that the same o rings can be used. The 1/8 shaft is slightly (very, very slightly) larger than the 3mm shafts and the M3 threads are slightly larger than 4-40.JosephS wrote: ↑Fri May 21, 2021 11:20 pm the shock shafts are 3mm in the old and the new v2 shocks end that fit the new v2 shocks like

I have also used newer 3mm shafts in older bodies, but older shafts fit a little too tight in newer bodies ( at least, the few I tried).

Re: More AE parts being discontinued
I wonder if there are different generations of shafts. When i put my A stamp and worlds shafts in my calipers I am seeing 2.99 and 3.0 mm. #4 threads are .11" by spec at around 2.794 mm.juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Sat May 22, 2021 1:38 amThe old shock shafts are actually 0.125", with 4-40 threads. Re: More AE parts being discontinued
Here are the measurements that I took
The shaft on the right is a modern "3mm" shaft from an Associated big bore.
The shaft measured 2.97mm. The thread was 2.93mm, metric "M3" threads.
The shaft on the left is a vintage Associated shaft.
The shaft measured 3.11mm. The thread was 2.77mm, SAE "4-40" threads.

Re: More AE parts being discontinued
This is interesting. Either my caliper is off or there are different runs of vintage shock shafts. I don't think my caliper would be off by +/-.1 mm as items that are known, such as 12mm hex adapters measure on spec. I'll take the time to measure all 7 original shafts I have left. 2x.51" 2x.71" and 3x 1.32"juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Sat May 22, 2021 12:25 pm Here are the measurements that I took
