How many people typically show up for VONATS? Hard to tell from videos online.
Don't be worried about being in the way, everyone is there to have a good time. I raced at the VONATs three years in a row. In 2009 it was my first race since the early 90's, I felt like I was just a moving obstacle for the fast guys. I don't remember how I placed, but I had an absolute blast running an RC-10 around a track again. In my experience the VONATS has a very relaxed atmosphere with a bunch of folks playing with toy cars.RCveteran wrote: ↑Thu Sep 07, 2017 6:46 pm I keep wanting to make the long journey there one day. Is there a place for a club level hack, seems most of you guys that show up are top level drivers past or present. I guess the classic and wheelie class would be a good equalizer. I am no fool though and Cliff Lett would be aggravated by me being in the way if he was driving a Wild Willy and I had a wonder buggy.
I bought a toolbox like that at Homedepot a couple weeks ago. Really helps with three buggies.lmw94002 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2017 10:55 am I have so much crap I want to bring, I ended up going to HomeDepot on the way to work to buy a rolling/stackable set of toolboxes. LOL.
Does this ever turn into a swap-meet type thing? Should I bring my boxes of torn down RC10s, vintage parts, and electronics?
Like those paint jobs... no 10T? I just realized yesterday, I didn't have a body for my 10T but luckily I had a single unpainted one in the pile of bodies. Glad I suck at painting... so it only takes a couple days to do one.
