Thanks for the compliments. I'd love to do more on it but I'm waiting for a body from Andy's to arrive to top off the chassis.

Looks great Shodog, nice effort and the reward is beautiful!
Any reason why you are leaving the motorplate black? Maybe polish that too to match the other "chrome" looking parts...or you could paint it red to match the chassis!

Congrats, nice build!

After a lot of measuring I trimmed up the Andy's Renegade body and put it on the chassis. I found that It sat really high on the chassis. The Renegade is shaped quite differently than the protech the chassis was designed for.

The more I looked at the body I could see more of it needed to come off. I've trimmed most of the back off just leaving the scoop. I trimmed the nose a bit that allows the body to drop a bit. I added a thorp aluminum wing to compliment all the other aluminum parts. I like the way it looks but the cockpit and roof may still be coming off.

This is pretty clever. You've really thrown some love at this beast.

Can you talk about mounting the upper arm where you did in this picture? I think I know why, but I wanted to be sure I'm on the right base and to ask how you got the measurements right.

What upper arm are you referring to? The rear upper camber link?

Instead of continually cutting that body down, you really should make your own. Fasten some aluminum panels on there, or whatever, and it'd look more like the real deal.

Yes. It's not in the block of holes like what I ran (of course the last time I touched those screws Reagan was in office).

A sick build for sure...But this body setup is the way to go! LOVE the exposed cage top and back!

:/ I figured out what it was... It's the holes to mount the shock tower to the bulkhead. I was in the office when I asked... Went over to the car to fire up a LiPo charge (outdoors while doing yard work) and looked for it. Before that, I was thinking, wow, how'd he engineer those to match and then put straight matching threaded holes in the aluminum without a shop. But, I pulled a derp...

Still, an impressive setup and I've picked up a few ideas along the way, even if I never get the urge to do the tube.

I share your opinions on this renegade body. I wish it wasn't the case as I love the paint job. Since I've already hacked the body, I'm going to try cutting the top off and see what it looks like. If I don't like it in the end, I have a new protech body I could paint up for it.
