Lobo, What length are the dog bones for the DS and are their any from other RC's that fit? I've been looking on ebay for some, but there doesn't seem to be much of a selection.

Thanks,
Dave

Will get them measurements for you once I get home.

I pm'd you some links and pics. You'll have your choice of stock or aftermarket.

Please do not hesitate to send me a pic of your DS project...its my favorite model car  .

let me know if that helps

Lobo,

It sure did. I'm piecing this together out of spares from my RC10 graphite restore and eBay, so I may have more questions for you. Once the parts start rolling in, I'll make a build thread. Oh and by the way, it was pictures of some of your cars that got me interested in the DS, so I am blaming you if the wife asks why I have all these packages coming in. :)

Thanks,
Dave

Hey Dave,

No problem with questions, I will more than happy to answer. In fact I will take the blame when your wife starts asking about them packages...but I think its better if you use my patsy...Santa Claus....that's what I call my postal person and they take all the blam....im golden

Its very cool to see more activity with regards to the DS. It gets me motivated in finishing off all these projects I keep adding on.

I may need to quit my day job, hahahaha

Thanks mate - helpful. I love the original DS wheels, and I have a set of NIP ones for when I find the right body... currently my DS has a 200mm body too and some (older, but original) wheels and tires and indeed the body is missing a good 10mm of width to clear the tires, which is a shame.

Still looking ;)

Thanks!
Paul
I hear you on the wheels...i think the original DS wheels are awesome and understand why you'd want to keep them. The only thing holding you back is a proper body huh?

Here are a few pics i just took before heading to work to see if it helps you out.

I placed the camaro body on the DS. The rear was placed very very gently on the tires so the body wont spread wide open.

When i get back home i will try it with the 200mm '05 Mustang body and post those pics.
Can you try the 68 Camaro body with the ds wheels and see how it fits?

So the back is wide enough but the front is not?

You got it. The body width on the HPI challenger, cuda and 68 Camaro is 200m fronts and 210mm rears.

if you wish for the wheels to tuck in then I recommend using the axle adapter.

you can use HPI wheels that are narrower than the DS wheels and you purchase them according to the offset you need to accommodate the body.

You wouldn't happen to have some skinny rc10 buggy wheels to put on the front to see if they tuck under the front?
