Yeah I went back and read an article detailing why he was not read Miranda rights and I think I understand now. It is a fine line though even for filth like him.

Romulus, I'm sure you are not saying I am a fool or part of what's wrong with the country? Not sure who that is directed at.

I hope he is tried by the Feds since Mass doesn't have the death penalty.

It is directed at whoever believes he should be given a fair trial and deserves to be read his Miranda rights. I'm tired of hearing about criminals being tried and given special treatment because some lawyers talks a bunch of idiots into believing the people like him are victims and its inhumane to put them to death.

No trial this guy deserves to die just like his brother. What is there to be tried. He killed a bunch of people. We the country need to stop being stupid and stand up for ourselves again.

Just so you know flip that was definitely not a personal attack on you. I called my mother a fool too when she told me about them not reading him his Miranda rights and she thinks that's wrong.

America gives too many rights to the criminals. And in this case especially he deserves none.

Wow, I don't even know where to start with this. I'm part of what's wrong with this country? What's wrong with this country is people who don't understand basic human rights, or what rights we used to have. What's wrong with this country is not people who understand its laws and way of working for the past 200+ years, what's wrong is how those laws and rights have changed in the past 12 years and those who rally around them being stripped. Since he's a "terrorist" don't you think he might be sent to Guantanamo? That place is hardly known for treating its inmates like kings. Also, the argument about what would befall him in another culture means nothing. If Tommy jumps off the bridge does that mean we should too? That argument demeans our system, our rights and who we are as people. We are a country with due process, a country where people are innocent until proven guilty, no matter how heinous the crime. Seems that most people have already proven this man guilty. I hope that any of you in this lynch mob ever find yourself in a sticky situation that you won't be surrounded by a similar rabid wolf pack.

If you want to talk about what another country might do, pay attention to the eroding of our rights. We'll be there soon enough.

Back on my point. While we were all distracted by this 24 hour media coverage of what amounted to not much... The House of Representatives passed CISPA. Go ahead and get angry about one crime committed by two lunatics. Your Fourth Amendment rights made one more big step towards fading into history. That is something you should be upset about.

As my friend said this week: "If terrorists really hated Americans for their freedom, they would be liking them by now for sure."

Again, this argument is nil. They don't live by our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, our laws. It is a moot point. We live in the United States of America, not country X, Y or Z. We live by our laws, they live by theirs. What does what they do have to do with what we do? What does how they treat someone have to do with how we might treat someone? Are you implying we should adopt their ways? Why stop with what they do, maybe we should just go full on Sharia law? Screw this whole human rights thing.

No, my point is that in this country when you act deviant, you face the American justice system, which by comparision is plush to what deviant behavior does for you, your family and the people you know in places like Albania, Syria and Somalia. No, we don't live in those counties but the point is much like those practices (bombing/domestic terrorism) aren't acceptable here either, we haven't publicly decapatitated him, raped his mother and sisters, killed his father, uncle and grandfathers for what hes done (supposedly or not).

And my point is, who cares what happens in country X? We don't live there. It is irrelevant. Lots of things happen in country X that are different than country USA. So what?

What does killing/raping/whatever his family if he lived somewhere else have to do with the price of tea in China?

It's just amazing to me the outrage and media coverage this has produced, with virtually no discussion of what's going on in the bigger picture. So two lunatics do something stupid. Meanwhile, CISPA goes thru the House without the blink of anyone's eye, NDAA is law, drones are flying overhead and the entire city of Boston is locked down and a military style operation is carried out to find one person. The entire city, with the exception of Dunkin Donuts (that's a fact, not a joke) and nobody even says a word. A major city has never been completely locked down to hunt one man before. And no, it didn't capture him, he was found only after the lock down was lifted and someone wandered out and saw some blood on his boat.

Why are we so upset about one supposed "terrorist" criminal? So ready to lynch him in the public square? Yet, not even open our eyes to what is going on with our own rights, with the laws that are in place to protect us all? To say our anger and outrage is misguided would be the understatement of the decade.

Martial Law keeps us free in 'merica. Glad we don't live in the Albania, they don't treat people right over there.

And as far as the patriot act and its ill effects....seems like it was pretty damn effective in this occurance. I wonder what % of Massachusetts residents are bitching about the lockdown?

Yes I am. I don't live in country X. I don't live by their laws. What if this guy committed this crime in 100BC Mesopotamia? What if he committed it in Canada? What if he committed it on the moon? Who cares? The crime happened here. It will be punished here, by the laws we've established. Or maybe not by the looks of things.

NYC wasn't shut down on 9/11. When the Washington sniper was killing everybody, DC wasn't shut down. This is a first. Welcome to the police state.

both of you guys are right, I want more than anything for him to be hung by the balls, but we as a humanitarian race, must follow the laws that are in place, or all we have fought for is lost, and they win! I'm 40 years old, (and have had my run in's with the law) I've been to Cape cod Mass. 23 of the 40, and to Boston 13, in that 23. Kill him, but let it be done in a lawful way, so we can sleep better at night, but don't fight each other.

My company's office in Waltham was asked to stay closed and we were all urged to work remote( computer support ). I was fine with that.
