81/20 on the gearing. Could probably go a bit lower on the pinion.

The Reventon I have in this car is the 'S' version which doesn't have any boost function, but will allow you to crank the timing quite a bit. I have the 'R' version that does have a boost setting that is going into a B4 project I have ongoing.

Had a chance to turn a few laps with this tonight. Fixed the ole wing problem first(pic). First impressions are that this car handles very well, especially not having driven one much for over 20 years. It handled the jumps very nice and even. Squared up very well when getting on the throttle. Slipper was a tad tight causing the occasional easy spinout. I left it in the short rear wheelbase holes with the stock rear mounts and hubs. Hopefully Reg can chime in here, but will the previously mentioned T2 rear mounts and truck hubs help with adding more steering, or more turn in? That was the only thing that was noticeably lacking. I might have to add a bit of drag brake to turn a bit better as well as play around with the other ESC settings. The Speed Passion ESC is top notch in my book.

Bob, what tires are you running (and inserts) what's your front and rear droop settings (and oil/piston) and have you added any weight anywhere?

So I see your running (MC) compound suburbs up front, clay compound tires tend to be so/so on bite unless the track is prepped with sugar, or blue/black groove. Someone also mentioned that it appears you front shocks are rubbing the tower- (which will bind) and decrease front end effectivness.

#2 pistons front and rear, #35 front oil, #30 rear oil. Plenty of clearance on shocks. That pic is misleading. Not sure how much droop exactly. Have 3 limiters in the rear, 2 thin ones in front. There is a bump steer problem when the front shock is compressed the inner camber link end hits the bell crank end slightly. Not sure how to correct that other than moving the inner ball stud further out/up?

No weight added anywhere. Was very balanced over the jumps.

Traction was decent. Stock foam inserts front and rear. A different compound tire?

I slightly dremel'd the ball cups to fight this. More on the center link than the camber links.

Maybe the stock foam in the rear is "too soft", giving you too much bite. A CC foam may free up the rotation. Reg can probably answer that better than me.

Joey, don't sell yourself short- I've seen lots of pics of your cars looking good on track

I have lots of mounted tires you can try- from slicks to Super-Soft bars. Your front end doesn't bite in anywhere, if your still at 25* caster....and your not over-shooting the corners by entering too fast...then I personally would focus on,

1) tires or tire prep...softer tires, or stickier tires or traction compound change bite characteristics
2) ride height/droop....to little much ride height makes it very dull, too little droop makes it skatey
3) piston/oil/spring....controls the rate of weight transfer, too stiff- no transfer, too light, too much transfer
4) adding weight....with lipo's you need to add weight to key places, behind battery..nose- you just do-
5) camber.... Never more than -3/4 * max with treaded tires,
6) servo saver.....dull and inconsistent steering feel.....always and everywhere-

Both of your inputs much appreciated! Will work down the list. Ride height 'looks' good, need to measure it. Not sure if you can tell by the pics or not of the amount of droop? I played around with the servo end settings and was able to squeeze maybe another 5% or so more steering just by maxing out the end points while the suspension is compressed.

On another note, the Wifi module with this ESC that enables it to do everything via iphone is the cats a$$. You can change the firmware and all the settings via wireless connection between the car and your wireless device of choice.

How about a shot in the same positions, with the battery in- front, rear and side?

A quick check shows the rear ride height at 24mm and the front at 26mm. CVDs right at level when sitting. I didn't fine tune any toe or camber adjustments yet. Just tried to get everything straight for the first time out.
