Hehee, cheers! I wished we all lived near each other so we could meet up and compare builds, that would be cool.
I've never seen clear shock bodies for the SW, post a pic!
The forthcoming parts are fairly small, I deliberated about a set for my G+ and consequently missed them, this time around I grabbed them, should go nicely!

Some further pics with wheels/tires and body mounts, still waiting on the shell to arrive, but this build is soooooo nearly done.

Damn that looks good! Sure takes me back to when I owned/raced mine

Clicking to get the larger image of your car really shows just how 'mint' the build is.... a real credit to you!
Just a shame the plugs are a different colour shade of yellow compared to the wheels - but hey, such a minor point!

Cheers Dan, it's come up well. The chassis and covers are new, but most of the suspension parts etc are actually used, albeit briefly on carpet.
The wheels were in a right state when I got them, it looked like they'd been near a fire and were a horrible brown colour, I was quite dismayed with them, but then remembered that magical stuff called peroxide! A few days soaking in that stuff and they are back to their best, well happy. However I would like a set of the newer style wheels, if I can find some fluo dye somewhere....
The first batch of xx4's came wih black plugs, I used to have some, but foolishly sold them a long time ago with my XX4 WE, ho hum. I am keeping an eye out for set though, I've heard the don't dye too well.

Perhaps a fresh Sharpie Black Permanent Marker might do the trick!

I can live with the yellow ones for now I think, but if I see some black ones...

Cheers guys!
I've got the shell now, I've fitted it up, got it slammed as low as it will go at the front, although the front tower is the limiting factor
Hopefully I'll get it sprayed up over the xmas period, super excited about getting it done.
Glad you got the strap Dan, post some pics when you get a chance!

I noticed that too, the arms are at crazy angles, the roll center must soooo low! Really suprised this car was actually competitive with this setup.
The roll centers were the reason Trinity came out with the "congo" springs, which were in the 25-40 lb range across the set. Really the car is an offroad car with short arms, so it's way out of whack. When Joel Johnson won the 98 Carpet nats, they had a bunch of crazy stuff like XXCR rear hinge pin mounts on it. Jim Dieter was at the track dialing in the car weeks before the race to get it working properly. One of the locals who was getting help from Jim brutalized the field in qualifying but had some very bad "luck" in the mains (some questionable moves by other racers there).
I was there with a YR4M trying to figure out WTF I was doing...Luckily one of the Yokomo USA mechanics took mercy on me.

I was in the stock C (i think it only went to a D main...lol) - I can't remember were I finished, but it was close to the front.

as a side note, Dieter is one of the most ingenious chassis modifiers and setup guys that I've ever met- really out there stuff too, yet when you apply it....it works and makes perfect sense. He built a Dirt oval chassis for Lemiux with an F1 style nose clip that sat above the suspension components, a torsional twist chassis with 4 degrees of right lean in the front and 4 degrees of left lean in the rear and it was in the show at the 07' US Openwheel. Neat guy-

Interesting to hear that chaps. I would imagine on carpet with such high grip this car would of been even worse compared to tarmac - hence the Josh Cyrul conversion that Trinity made.
I do remember racing indoors with my SW and I switched to the Losi black springs with 80wt oil and the car was transformed!
