Hey Erich,

I googled the address you have posted and it looks like it's a high school. Is this the right place?

Also, any motel/hotel recommendations?

Yep that's it. It's in a school park. The cheapest hotel is the Microtel. There's also a Hampton inn and a bunch of other hotels in the area

the microtel is the coolest little hotel, very tiny rooms but super clean. seems futuristic.

Do we need to bring our own pit tables, extension cords etc?

What time does the track open on Friday for practice?

I talked to Erich yesterday, he said there are some tables already there, but to bring some to insure you have space. Power is available but you will need to bring an extension cord.

As far as what time it opens Friday, I am assuming that whenever the school grounds are open the track should be available. Not sure exactly what time that will be.

As a loose timetable for the weekend here's what I'm aiming for:

Friday- Open at 9am and have open practice all day

Saturday- Open at 8am for practice and registration. Racing will start about 12-1 and we'll run three rounds

Sunday- Open at 8am and start 4th round or Qual at 10am. Concours and door prizes at 12 and start mains at 1pm. We should be out of there by 4 or 5.

***ON ANOTHER NOTE*** the club does have a dirt oval track as well and the guys normally race saturday night under the lights. If we're done in time and you guys have dirt cars they'd love to have you join them or just stick around and check out dirt cars that do 30mph in about 60 feet! Pretty cool thing to watch for sure!

Guys, I just wanted to correct the location of the track. Google and mapquest have the location slightly off.

Here ya go! Mind yo uthis was taken as we were building the jumps so there are a few things different now, mainly theres a tabletop at about 3/4 of the way down the front straight and theres a single in the far back right corner where you come to the corner of the fence.

Surface is a combination of sandy clay for a base and top soil so you get a very hard packed track that holds moisture and had loose fluff on top. So far we've found that Goosebumps, Tazers and things like that work best on it. I ran it with my SC truck on Tazers and it was pretty good but as the fluff got deeper I ran Blockades. Some guys were running Calibers but I think those are one of those tires that work on ANYTHING.

Rhythm of the track is interesting, you're constantly on your toes as the straight runs right into a table top and then a rhythm section followed by a pair of straight up and back doubles on the two short shoots. Then you come to a higher speed section with sweeping z turns and a single into the far back corner. If you cut the last turn too tight you fall off into the "Pit of Death" but if you run down the middle over the single you set up for a straight shot back down to the straightway.

The jumps are all very vintage friendly and they set up well but don't drop you in bad places or pointing toward anything hard. I think the club did and awesome job with the track!
