Thank you for the compliment Nope, the only one they still make is the RC10 tub and you would have to drill the holes in the front kick up plate by yourself: http://www.fibre-lyte.co.uk/Scott S. wrote:Are they still making those Chassis and Tower ? That is an Awesome build.

I can't believe that.

... and this:
At first I spray the diff pulley with WD40, let it soak a few minutes, then brush it with a toothbrush, rince with hot water, then a second run of WD40/toothbrush and lastly rince with hot water, add a dab of dishwash soap, brush and rince, you're done!
The metal parts get treated the same way except I obviously don't use water and soap. First step is to spray them with WD40, let them soak a bit, then I use a steelwool pad to gently scrub them (it prevents to remove material at critical locations), the outdrives are gently polished with a 1000 grit sandpaper sponge (see pic above). Last step is to clean and dry everything with a cloth.
I've done the other diff today using this very method, here is the result (thumb pics are clickable):

Rebuilt diff:
Now the transmission is done, took me a good three hours to get this (thank God the kids still do a nap ):

the oblique twill weave pattern of the tub & upper deck are not at the same direction.......this occurred in my Lazer ZXR carbon tub too......

Hey thanks for the compliment on the car! The motor mount was cleaned with elbow grease and a metal cleaning product called 'Sidol' and meant to clean copper and other metals. Nothing really special, you need patience and care above all...flustorm99 wrote:Even though u am six months too late....Great job on the car! Very impressed with your work! Plan for the weekend is to bend music wire, cut some double side tape to form and adapt the below Fibre-Lyte aerofoil wing to the old dog. It came with a full Traxxas Rad2 in poor shape I acquired directly from them a few years back but thought it would better fit da dawg. Again lots of craftmanship into it. Wing buttons had to be filed and inserted carefully inside the wing through the lateral holes in a surgical manner.

Hello,
I followed your COMCOM discussion with great interest - here are some supplement photos.
On the package can be seen, this chassis was manufactured in Great Britain by FIBRE- LYTE and sold by COMCOM.
Sorry for my bad English.

Thought this the best place to ask, but, didnt Chris Grainger use a tub carbon chassis in the BRCA touring rounds, on a YZ10, not a Works car!
Wish i stil had my okd RRCI's to check, but id love to have a custom made for the 94 car!

Some small progress on the yet old carbon dog that received its new wing wire, side dams as found in the original box from Hansell Composites, and a wing eventually. I still have some holes to drill in the bulkhead caps to mount the top deck, finish the rear stab bar, properly set the electronics and find a body. The pair of front copper springs it had are now on my 91 Stealth until I find another one of them Pictures reflect the type of wheather, daylight and mood we experience in this season in Central Europe.
