It's not an actual re-release though. I reckon Tamiya should re-release the Monster Beetle seeing as it'd be very easy for them to do, I'd buy one and a replacement body set for my original MB.

If you want to invest in a collectable rc car, then you should use your head versus going by what you love. Personally, I would try to amass 1/8 gas on road cars like Delta and early Associated for example. They will never be reproduced, are fewer in number, and they have an established base of people looking to buy.

If you just love a car that was awesome when you were 13, Tamiya bringing back old cars is a great thing.

Love the Monster Beetle.

I hope Tamiya re-releases the Monster Beetle as well as have an RTR version as well.

Here are mine... the one on the left has after-market aluminum wheels on:

I've loved the Monster Beetle since I first saw one when I was 7 or 8. Always hoped Tamiya would re-release one since the auctions for nice built ones were so expensive. I couldn't even imagine a kit.

Got lucky a few weeks ago and picked this up for $150. Not sure if I am going to build it or keep it boxed up though.

Local guy. His wife wanted stuff out of the house. I've learned to not let my wife ever know how much I really have...

Hahaha, that's awesome. Definitely don't build it. The box is even in really great shape!

I told my wife just now and she said "Yup! I don't blame her"

...uh oh... :)
