I've actually slowed down quite a bit, but I have ideas man. This "little" hobby is pretty soothing to my brain. Gets me away from work/school/wife/twins/dogs.....

you can use a very small diameter nut to fit on there. They usually come with heim ends you get a hobby store, like dubro and similar.

I would rethink that front tower anyway. unless you are slamming the chassis, you really want those arms to be parallel to the chassis, or even slightly down in the relaxed position. remember, you don't have all the radio and battery gear installed, which will lower the height even more.

maybe a longer shock shaft will do what you need there.

Good point. But my idea was to slam the chassis. I like all the options I am getting, thanks everyone!

I shaved my nuts down a little and was able to get them settle in. BAHAHAHAHAHA

Anyways, I was able to get all the tie rods hooked up, and threw the wheels on it to see what was what. A couple of things that I noticed were:

I need a guage to get the toe and angles right, because I suck at tie rod adjustment

This chassis sits low, and I love it.

got the servo posts in today. Beautifully done, I will post pics later. All the same dimentions as the white nylon posts, milled, with the holes offset. 6 sets in all. Going to re-do the sterring in the last two cars as well as this one.

This time I pre-cut the cover before painting. I wanted to get a better idea of how the cover should mount, and am still trying to decide on how to do the front. You can see from some of these pictures that I did not cut the rear shock area at all, as the shocktower is much lower than a normal rc10 tower.

Also, I used an old rc120t short bumper to deflect debris, as the cover does not go past the front DS shock tower.





I really like the red hardware. Got some smaller 4-40 locknuts to fasten the shocks and the front nose bars. Only did one side, but will get to the other side soon enought. Really like fastener express, and am trying (I emailed them last week with no answer) to get a complete red anodized kit for my next project as well.

I almost had a stroke.

My wife tonight (after a few beers) says to me tonight "I reallylike the red one, don't paint the shell". I'm not sure if she said this because I suck at rattle canning paint jobs, or if she likes it for real.

MMaybe it was the fact that we were listening to the Dead on Sirius and we are both pretty loaded (she hates my hobbies, except for the beer snob thing), but I was pretty shocked.....

This car is rocking. Sits a little low, but this isn't going od a track, will just be on the road and such. Just need to bolt the motor in, get a pinion on it and roll. OOh, and paint as well, but I'm dreading that.....

I want to do a crazy paint job on it, but i suck, and I know I'm just going to ruin it...

Can any of the gearing masters tell me what pinion I should run with a 6900Kv motor and a 76t spur gear? LOL!

get a smaller motor!!!! My 5700 Mamba Max is too much for my RC10 sandrail

This is one HOT car. Coastie, I've never been a fan of the Parma Eagle body, until I saw it on the Hot Trick Red Prince Frog. Emerson Shih? does the repro kit, he's on ebay as RC LOHAS also.. Anyway, the one bad thing about it is that the motor sits high, and you have to cut out that hole in the body. Alternatively, the RC10 with the eagle typically has the body hole cut for the rear shock tower. I have been thinking for some time of getting a graphite chassis, and doing a Mid-RC10 with that body, so that the sleek lines could be retained, you found a way to do so without even going mid!! Cannot wait to see it with paint laid down!! Are you going to put a wing on it??
