I guess I would like to learn just about future powdering or other breakdowns. I think most of us doing this are concerned about nice white parts for our shelfers. I am not concerned about whitening my runners so I don't really mind if they break eaiser or not.

Anyone else notice that the sealed up jar should be vented periodically? There is some type of chemical reaction taking place, and the parts are definitely giving off oxygen. Considerable build-up every hour or so. Lots of bubbles on the parts themselves.

I don't have a lid on mine and it seems to work great. Parts do have small bubbles on them.

i didn't put a lid on mine, either.

x3 for no lid. but watching all the bubbly goodness i can clearly see where a lid would get tight.

I had to put a lid on mine too,even I don't like the CATS on my car,I don't want a SHOOT OUT with the neighbors over a DARN CAT. Yup lotts a BUBBLES

May be a dumb question , does the peroxide loose it's power or can it be used over and over for more parts? I just pulled a bulkhead out after 2 days in the sun and it's amazing.

i am still getting good results with peroxide that i have been using for 2 weeks. maybe someone that knows a bit more than me can give a better answer.

u guys think of putting your jar or whatever into a large reflecting bowl of some sorts? like a big salad bowl?

I did this as well and got good results, well when the sun comes out anyway!

I've got a stupid question! I've had great results with arms, bulkheads, etc but how the hell do you keep the small parts from floating to the top. Shock parts etc seem to float to the top and aren't fully submerged. Im trying a set of top shock collars now and I put the screws back in to add a little weight but Im a little worried what might happen with the metal in the solution. Anyone else have this problem and have a solution?

I added screws to most parts to keep them submerged. I have done 2 sets of front knuckles complete with axles,clips and king pins and it did not do anything to the metal parts. The solution does react with aluminum screws/parts though, makes them turn black.

I had mine in a jar, and just turned the jar upside down so that the floating parts were on the glass side of the jar, and exposed to direct sunlight. I also removed ALL metal pieces from everything I soaked. I did wind up having to vent the jar every hour or two because of the chemical reaction that was going on and puffing the metal lid.

Has anyone tried this on other brands, say Traxxas TRX1 parts? I would try it on my Kyosho Pro-X arms but they loooked so bad i ended up dyeing them.

I put an RPM white trans brace in the peroxide and it changed the color to a light rust color, keep in mind I'm color blind but it's ruined so I'll stick to AE's recipe for nylon parts from now on.
